It may be one of those things you have to catch in the act. I think I would want the whole ignition system analyzed by a shop with some rather elaborate equipment. I understand it requires an oscilloscope to thoroughly diagnose the ignitions on modern cars. A weak spot might show up with an analyzer. It could be many things, something as simple as a connector losing contact.

My 2009 sorento when i stop at a light or stop sign its like the engine wants to shut down but it stops when i take my foot off the break pedal

Sounds like a misfire condition... This condition will set trouble codes that you can scan for at your favorite local auto parts store for free. Just go up to the parts counter and ask them to scan your engine codes. This will give you a clue as to what is going wrong with your car. It could be more than one component causing the problem.

Van just shuts off while driving.

You probably have a weak crank shaft position sensor. Also try changing the oil and filters.

Shuts off while driving

I think you need another diagnostic done on the vehicle. Or I would have someone check the fuel pump and filter. Fuel filters and clog up and shut a car down.

Started my 2005 Kia Sorento this morning. It sounded and felt rough than died. Started it again gave it some gas and kept running rough. but RPM's fluxing up and down.

If no "check engine" or "wrench symbol" shows on the dash, the problem may be with bad gas.

If you do have a light displayed on the dash, Autozone, Advance, and Oreilys will scan the car for free. They can give you the defect number and sell parts to you if you can fix it yourself. If you need someone to fix it, at least when you call, you can price the repair by name.

Let the car idle and warm up before accelerating. See if it smooths out or makes noises. The noises would indicate problems that should not be driven.

I hope my solution is helpful.

My 2004 Kia Sorento's Crankshaft sensor code

My advice to u is get a second opinion (I know its a pain in the ,,,,,,,,) MAKE SURE THE WORK COMES W A WARANTEE. Its very unusual for 2 sensors to go out at the same time, it may be an electrical problem. GET THAT WARANTEE. Codes don't mean a sensor is bad

04 KIA SORENTA ac coolant fan stays on even if when car is shut off....

There has been known promblem with the 03- early 05 sorento of radiator fan staying on even after engine is turn off, it is claim to be a electrical malfuction in the engine termalstat. However you may just need to check your coolant level and fill it up as there is also a promblem to the sorento's having a leaking radiator coolant resevior too. Pretty much I own a 03 sorento, and it has been nothing but promblem, but glad I got rid of it. However like I said, check your coolant level, and fill it up with 50/50 coolant to recommended level. Should be able to solve the promblem, since it seems your engine is lacking coolant and is overheating, and the fan turn on automatic even after you have shut of your car to help cool it down.

Gas guage-oxygen sensor?

The oxygen sensor has nothing to do with the fuel gauge. There are two possibilities for the gas gauge error, first it could be the in-tank gas level sensor or it could be a defective stepper motor which drives the gauge. A professional scan tool can determine the fuel level being sent by the in-tank sensor, if that disagrees with the gauge, then the stepper motor needs replacing.
