There should be 4 wires on the alternator, labeled IG, L, S and B. The wires for S and B should be white. Connect both S and B wires to the positive terminal of your spare battery.

I have the 1990 model and just so happened to stumble on its unusual location today as I was replacing the door hinges. On the passenger side open the door and look above the step, there should be a little plastic cap with the wiper icon on it. hope this helps!

looking at the mirror it has a cover on mounting base. the base cover should pop off so you can remove 3 mounting screws.hold mirror in place.
