Car stereo

There should be a display. OE radios tend to use the car's general purpose computer display.
If there is a code It is likely to be an OE product and the code and audio manual (and spare keys) should have been passed on by the previous owner. If such things are not with the car the resale price should be considerably lower reflecting the trouble and expense not having such things can cause subsequent owners.

If the previous owner cannot or will not help I suggest you contact your local VW dealer.

Radio code v518111

Factory installed radios sometimes have built in security to dissuade would be thieves from taking the radios. They have a factory code that must be entered if powered is removed from the radio. For example, say your battery dies, or you have to exchange the old for a new battery. Your car would have no power for some time. When power is restored you won't be able to use your radio unless you enter the code. That is probably what that code is for.

I have a cd/radio player from a 200 dodge van, and I want to put it in my 1998 Ram truck ?

If the radios do not have the same connections on them, you can buy a wiring harness from a car stereo dealer in your area. If you are lucky, the radios will have the same connectors, and the one radio will just plug into the other vehicle and work fine. cd-radio-player-from-200-dodge-van-want-21syibu3fgwpdxocjnkpw0ib-3-0.jpg cd-radio-player-from-200-dodge-van-want-21syibu3fgwpdxocjnkpw0ib-3-1.jpg cd-radio-player-from-200-dodge-van-want-21syibu3fgwpdxocjnkpw0ib-3-2.jpg

@novo07 mustang v6 shaker 500 radio 6cd changer, complete battery dead. after jump, radio wont come on at all. dead. Bought new battery, still no radio at all. all else works, fuses are good in kickpanel...

you may have blown an internal fuse on the radio. sometimes radios have an inline fuse on the red wire, located behind the radio. You must remove it to discover this problem though.

You might have a c.d.jam I'd take the radio apart and try pulling every c.d. out if that dont work or you brake the radio in the process just replace the whole damn thing

How to load in cd's to in dash 6cd player

Go to player menu until the display shows load and then press a # to load cd into a slot. My friends new Dodge drove me crazy for two hours because I didn't press a # for load location. ( # = 1-6)

Replacing car stereo in a 2008 Jeep Patriot

It is pretty easy if you have a few tools and know how to use them.

1-You need to pry off the trim bezel. There are just snaps holding it on, but be careful you do not pull too hard or scratch it. Use a plastic stick or small srewdriver covered with tape.

2-There will be 4 bolts at each corner of the radio to remove.

3-Pull out the radio and and remove all the connectors and the AM/FM antenna plug.

4-Reconnect your new radio and repeat steps 2 and 1.

I did this same upgrade on my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it worked without the need for a theft code.
