Like to other guy said, give it a tuneup. Also try SEAFOAM to clean carb up of slug. Also check to make sure the butter fly for the choke has not come loose, causing it the choke it down. Failed choke pull-off.

I have the same problem and have trouble codes 35 and 36. I found out that there is a computer module that needs replaced as it sits low in a valley and gets hot and seperates. I am reseaching about the a/m fix that installs the new module away from heat.

there is a injector driver module relocation kit with a heat sink to mount it to because the module in the orgional location the module would overheat. also check the glow plugs the quick easy way to do this without removing them is to unplug all the glow plugs then hook a jumper wire up to battery positive and and touch it to each glow plug there should be a spark and if there isn't then the glow plug is bad.

The flashing light indicates you have a big misfire that could damage the catalytic converter.. Being you were going uphill (under high load) this would indicate an ignition issue. You may have a bad coil or wires or a bad spark plug. The reason you could only go 30mph was because the computer was put in limp mode. This is a stratagy to prevent excessive damage to components. , Get it checked out ASAP

Try the fuel pump Relay. I had the exact same problem and thats all it was. It will eventually stop sending fuel at all. The relay is under the hood on the passenger side front corner. Ther are I think 5 there, the fuel pump relay is all the way to the right looking down into the engine compartment. Hope this Helps
