P0171 BANK 1 SYSTEM TOO LEAN

Sounds like you are in need of a new O2 sensor. Bank 1 is the side of the engine that your no1 cylinder is located. bank 2 is the opposite side of the engine.

Your problem is the mass air flow sensor is bad theat code is miss leading a p0171 and p0174 are both miss leading replace the mass air flow sensor and clear the codes.

Dodge 2004 p171 p174

p0171-- system to lean (bank 1)----p0174-- system to lean (bank 2 ). bank 1 is the side that #1 cylinder is on. bank 2 is the other side. the cause may be bad 02 sensors on both banks, or a exhaust leak. also you may want to check and clean the mass air flow sensor. for the sensor will set the same code as 02 sensors. good-luck!!

Hi
171 system too lean
174 system too lean
2195 - 02 ozygen sensor signal stuck lean Bank1 Sensor 1
2197- 02 ozygen sensor signal stuck lean Bank 2
Sensor 1
The 2 front 02 sensors are located on the front of
the exhaust manifold.
Should solve problem and increase gas mileage.
