And there is squealing where the serpentine belt it, but I read that if antifreeze gets on it that can cause the squealing and the squealing stops if I put some water in that area

the Glass element or the glass and backing assembly? if just the glass it is just glued on, Scotch two sided tape works as well, if the Glass and backing fixture it just snaps in and out of the drive motors.

SOURCE: Passenger side mirror replacement procedures

If its a power mirror there is more thing you will have to remove to get to the wires but if not there is a screw on the corner piece on the inside of the door. just pull the screw out and the bolts (3) that hold the mirror on are behind it. If it power then you will have to remove the door panel to access the wiring to disconnect it

SOURCE: my 2001 ford taurus is leaking coolant on the

It could be a hose on top of the engine leaking back there. It could also be a freeze plug on the back of the engine. Its a round disk about 2-3" in diameter and is recessed about 3/8" into the block. Check those out and make sure all hoses are good and tight. Any hoses that are kind of puffed out above the clamp should be replaced

Im leaking antifreeze from a pipe by the firewall what is that pipe is call, u have one side going to the water pump, and the other side going to the thermostate

this should be the heater core,is the pipe itsself bad or is it just the hose needing replaced?does heat work,is the passengers floorboard wet with coolant?could be the hose bad or the heater core bad, some cars have whats called a heater control valve right there at the firewall that the hoses hook up to,it could be bad,if hoses just hook up to two pipes sticking out of firewall, check hoses first, then look in passengers floor to see if its wet, heater core is inexspensive but costly to have replaced.

Water leaking inside 2001 ford focus passenger side floor

The ford focus and Taurus models from this period are notorious for water leakage. Unfortunately it can be from two possible causes. Lets start with easiest first. The water dam (black plastic) where the windshied meets the hood (on outside) sometimes pulls away from glass allowing water to run into the crack and then into the dash and into primarily passenger side. The fix for this is listed in a TSB by Ford and the dealer can install, for a price ofcourse, a replacement damn that helps. For my sons Taurus to diagnose if this was the true problem we put a piece of clear packing tape over the place where the dam meets the windshield making sure it was sealed to glass tightly and then waited for next rain and it was dry so that fixed it. SECOND possible cause is a bad heater core. If the wetness smells sweet like radiator fluid or sugary sweet then this is probably a coroded heater core that leaks radiator fluid into the passenger compartment. It is located in center of dash closest to passenger side. Unfortunately if this is the case it needs to be replaced and a radiator shop will charge anywhere between 250 to 500 to do the job with part included. If it is the HEATER core you should check your coolant level regularly because it operates on pressure and with a leakign heater core you can lose pressure and possible have engine overheating. Good luck

Either a leaking hose going to the heater coil or a bad heater coil. Water gets inside car on front floorboard. How do I replace heater coil?

To be honest, most mechanics hate replacing heater cores because of their location. They are usually on the firewall on the inside of the car underneath the glove box under the dashboard and behind a plastic black cover. If you look under the hood at the firewall on the passenger side, you should see on inlet hose and one outlet hose which should be replaced along with the heater core. They must be removed first before you can remove the heater core. Basically you have to lay on your back on the passenger side Front) floorboard, remove the necessary panels to get to the cover, remove the heater core and install the new one first, then intall the new hoses, reinstall the cover and any panels you removed. Lastly, be sure to bleed and top off the coolant while you run the heater, then check for leaks

Cant find coolant lines

jack it up on the passenger side and remove the plastic inner fenders this will give you a better view of the cooling system and the hoses below that run to the water pump and radiator.

My 99 ford taurus is registering that it has low coolant on the dash board. its leaking a little under the passenger front side under the hood. i also smell somthing like burning, hot under the hood also

Could very well be coolant, depending on what color your using, orange, green whatever, but it should feel a little oily when you rub it between your fingers. Top up your bottle in the meantime, and have it checked, before it does worse, more expensive/extensive damage to your engine.
