You might have cut a wire or it could have broken or disconnected. Try tracing the wiring where you hooked up the trailer you may find one broken or disconnected.

2000 E150 van has jerking during acceleration had new spark plugs, oil change and filters replaced. The van stalled on the highway could not get it to start. Mechanic said could be fuel pump but started...

The mechanics right on tract,If you have a misfire, you would depending on the severity misfire, run rough and stall but restart, within a short time.Because it is a s fuel pump a sufficient amount of pressure is not maintained and at the same time is being consumed ,causes you to hesitate then stall. Your pump being electical and in the tank is being intermittent, a replacement is what you going to need.

For 1995 Ford Truck E150 1/2 ton Van 5.8L EFI 8cyl the Fuel Filter is located under vehicle, driver side, below seating area, mounted on frame in fuel line.

Cant find the oil filter on a Ford E150 Van

Under the engine, between the rear of the engine and the front of the transmission. It will be on a mount with an oil cooler, (it has metal fins) on the driver's side.

Ford focus keeps stalling

I suspect it is a problem with the evaporative emission system. Basically, it collects vapors from the fuel tank and stores them in a charcoal canister in the engine compartment. It thens purges them into the engine when the engine is warm and running at road speed. You may be dumping too much vapor because your canister is filling with fule as well as vapor.

Do you try to "nurse" teh tank full at the fuel station? If yes, you may be flooding the canister.
Try just filling it 3/4 each time & see if problem goes away.
