SOURCE: Alarm siren and sunroof not working. Replacing alarm siren did not fix it.

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Antilock brake system.TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module

04 volvo xc90 Moonroof will not open. The fuse is good so why will it not open? Also, would this have anything to so with the alarm service notice.

probably the siren module is bad. Moonroof is conected with alarm, and if alarm goes bad, moonroof won-t work. Check out fuses 26 and 28.

I had the same problem on my 04 XC90 - apparently it is a common failure... You need to replace a Siren module.

Just had a brake job done. My xc90 2005 has 100000 miles. After the brakes were done and car was picked up, brake light still comes on. Was told not to pay any attention to this, that it would cost 1700.00...

While I can't say for certain a replacment module is or is not in need of relacing, the fact that the brake light stays on would make it difficult for you to sell the car and in most states would fail inspection. Ask whomever told you to ignore the light to put that in writting. If your brakes fail in the near future you can point to that written statement. If the repairer refuses to put anything in writing, I'd assume your being lied to.
