Power sterring makes wering noise and gose hard at low revs

Power steering makes wering noise and goes hard due to more than like been very lowe on pwer steering fluid .

1.power steering pumps normal leak fluid in the commodores and need replacing.
2.steerings always leak.
3.Also check the hose that come from the p/steer resvoir and even p/steeer cooler hoses and the metal pipe that mounted at the front of the radiator these are all very common faults

Power steering is leaking fluid can you tell me some of the locations that it can leak from

two most likely places it could leak oil from is the steering rack or the power steering pump,,,check the steering rack by turning the steering hard over and looking at the rubber boots on each end to see if any oil is leaking from them (its red in colour) also look at the pump you should see if thats leaking oil as it will splater every were,,,there is a slim chance its a pipe,,,,

Power steering fluid leaking - looking for schematic of steering assembly

most likely cause is a union where the flexible pipe joins the metal pipe ,on the power feed side of the system so follow pipe from pump to the steering rack and the high pressure pipe where it goes from metal to rubber is where you will find the leak

I have a leak in one of my power steering lines/hoses. I think it is a return line. Is this hard to get access to this.

The pipes bolt on with "banjo" connectors usually, like a motorbikes brake system, they're easy to install but they have to be torqued upto the right tightness - the hose goes from the power steering pump to the steering rack, it will be a bit of a squeeze and you'll need open-ended spanners - The hose might be hard to get hold of, i've done a search and cant find one, a local motor-factors like partco will have an off the shelf hose or be able to make one for you, not very expensive either way. You may find the leak is at one of the joins, you can undo the joint and refit it tightly after cleaning it (dont get any dirt in the pipes!) - Just looked at the engine bay on this car it;s very cramped, I expect you'll have to take quite a few plastic panels off the engine to get to the pump and rack, it's not hard just annoying* - break the job down into - Gain access - find the leak - refit the joint/replace the pipe - refit the panels - top up the power steering fluid. Then to prime the steering rack and get all the air out of the system... Jack up the front of the car so the front wheels are off the ground - Then, with the ignition off turn the wheel from lock to lock slowly about 6 times - take the car off the jack and test the steering, if the power steering pump is whining just repeat the jack-up turn-wheel process again but be really slow with the steering. (best to do it thoroughly first time round)

My 2003 laguna 1800 estate's power steering no longer works. Woked fine lat night when I used it, but this morning, completly gone. Help!!

Hi there the first thing to do is to check the Power steering oil in the power steering Tank and you should find it empty and a leak in either the pump or the hose so fill it up ,,start it up and turn the steering wheel and you should find a leak.
Other wise if you have a belt drive P.S.Pump then it could be slipping or missing.
Let me know if you need more info. Ron
