Question about Dodge Caravan
I have dodge caravan 2007 and I changed the rear suspension and there is a knock since that time, I have removed the suspension and it no longer knocks. The knock comes at the top of the damper. What can I do?
Caravans had a real issue with rear suspension noises, and one of the suggestions from Dodge was the addition of a spacer washer at the bottom shock mount to space it a little farther away from the axle housing. I have seen many new shocks that "knocked" right out of the box new. It is possible one of the new ones is defective

SOURCE: knocking noise front suspension
It very well could be a ball joint, but I would check your strut tower. When they come loose, they hit the fender where the connection is. Pop the hood, and look where the tower comes up, push down on the fender and see if it moves. That may be your problem. Hope that helps

SOURCE: knocking from suspension
I had the same problem and it came out that there was what they call a Quick Reply solution to the problem. The bolts on the direction tables were loose. They had previously thighten them but it came back. Now they've changed them today. Hope they fixed it for good!

SOURCE: knocking noise from rear of car
There are two common
known problems with the rear suspension. One problem is the rear spring
colliding with the rear lower arm during rebound. This is caused by a
lack of support in the rear lower arm and the upper spring seat. The
solution is to fit a spring isolator sleeve to prevent the metal to
metal knocking. Another common problem is knocking of the top coils of
the springs. A revised rear lower arm spring seat has been fitted since

There are a few suspension parts that can cause knocking noises. Such as swar bar loose, strut mounts going bad. You should really have a shop do a complete suspension check.

I had a similar noise, I took apart the strut and the bushing on top of the strut was falling apart. Replaced it with a new one for under 100.00. No more noise.
