Question about 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

Check engine light, engine miss, loss of kompressor power

Problem just started again, happens every day. I am accelerating up a grade, step on the power, and check engine light comes on and you can feel the loss of power from the kompressor, feeling like you're firing on three cylinders instead of four. Rough idle. You can stop the car for a short time, restart it, and the engine light remains on, but the power is now renewed.

I had the car in the MB shop for five days last month, having the exhaust valves, springs, and coils relaced for the same problem. The shop didn't know if they solved the problem because they were not sure what caused it.

Could the problem actually be caused by a faulty ecu, maf sensor, bad plugs, or a air recirculation flap? A bad head?

The car was originally repaired under warranty, but now it's outside the warranty.

Might have a vacuum leak. 2005 c class 230 kompressors have issues with the engine vent hoses under the intake manifold deteriorating and coming completely apart. This will cause mixture adaptations to max out and can cause missfires. Usually it sets a check engine light when it gets bad enough. There is a factory recall to replace these hoses, so check with mbz to see if your car has an open recall

I would check the fuel pressure first.
If the engine was miss-firing the check engine light should be on.

When your engine light flashes a you the computer is telling you that you have a hard, cosistant miss fire (one of the cylinders is not firing) you need to get the codes read to find out what cylinder it is then go from there.

it could be your oil pump. they are relatively cheap and fairly easy to replace. replace this first and check again. its a type of engine insurance.

Your timing belt could be broken. You want to have this checked as soon as possible to prevent any further engine problems.
