I have never torqued a drag link arm nut or anything else ..I do on engine rebuilds ...just tighten it if unsure take it to a garage

the one that goes to the power box or starter motor is positive (red)

The pump is self bleeding so that is not the problem. I do suggest you hold the throttle to just short of full opening during cranking to gain max flow through injectors.

On my 300sd I have this same issue. I think what is happening is that as you reach a stop, the transmission downshifts which leads to a rapid increase in resistance in the driveline so anywhere there is play between the transmission and wheels will slap around. There are two potential sources, these are the center carrier bearing and the the rear differential mount point. On the rear differential there is rubber cradle that it sits in, which can dry out and develop some play. Good luck.
