I suggest check all of your fuses if your fuses are all good remove the alternator and have it tested at your local parts store.

what you need to do is check the altenator for voltage it should be between 13 and 15 volts this is easily done with a standard volt meter check it at the altenator witch is located right on top of the engine on the back of the altenator there is a thick red wire that is where you want to put the positive and just put the black wire of the volt meter on the case of the altenator and check the reading it sounds like the altenator is bad there is also a fuse you should check your owners manual for location of the fuse also have your battary checked this should help ant questions just ask me

I have a 2000 Grand AM, both door locks or broke, Battary down. I need to know how can I Charge the battary so that the remote can open the door.

you can still pop the hood open by sliding a screwdriver over to the release and then you can get to the battery normally, or you could try to reach the charge clamps up ftom under the driverside tire it is a bit more sifficult and may rewuire you ro remove the shroud from the wheel well so see if you can open the hood first.

My 1994 Isuzu pickup drives fine. BUT, when i start shifting gears it seems to jump and slow down hen i'm shifting. It almost seems like it ants to die in mid shift. I replaced the battary couple days ago....

It may be the idle air control valve is sticking from excessive carbon deposits on it. It is mounted to the throttle body and has a (3) prong wire connector leading into it. There are usually (2) screws that hold it on. You can try to clean it with kerosene, but be sure not to immerse it if you do.

The part runs about $45 at Autozone.

With the engine running are you getting any voltage off the alternator? check with a multimeter. Check voltage at battery while running should be 13 volts or more.

The battary is good but some reason the battary is not chargeing

Hi, You have a bad alternator and or regulator. Many places will test these for free. Drive to a parts store and ask to watch them test you're electrical system. You have a two part charging system. One is the Alternator the other is the regulator. These are many times made into to one intricate system or ONE PIECE that must be replaced both at the same time. Please have your system checked before and after replacing the alternator/regulator. If you have an Advance Auto near you - or Auto Zone - call first and ask if they will check your alternator for proper operation e4bcbf3.jpg

disconnect battary and see what happens ,if battary holds charge put an ammeter on the earth side of the battary to see if there is any current draw if there is a draw remove each fuse individually to see which circuit it is

Alternator not delievering a charge

Trace the wire from the alternator to battery for a fusable link, might be burnt. Not knowing what year your truck is, I don't know if your truck has the external voltage regulator which is usually mounted on the inner fender well, or if it's built in the alternator. If it does have the external one try replacing it. Hope this helps.
