Wiring diagram for electric windows

Need to put a toggle in for driver side door and need to know what wires are hot and ground.

Just use a multimeter or a test light, a test light can tell you what wires are hot and a multimeter can tell you what had continuity to ground.

Looking for wiring diagram for drivers side window switch for a proton savvy 2006 my window goes down not .wanting to by pass switch via linking the correct connections on cable plug .then if it works...


Not familiar with this car, but first you have to find the power wire to the switch-that will be one end of your jumper wire. Use a test light clipped to ground, turn key to on, and probe all the wire cavities till you find the hot wire to switch. Now pull out on the electrical connector and see if you can see the two wires going down to driver's door motor. Then see where they connect to the connector. When you touch the jumper wire end to one, it will be for either up or down, and the other motor wire when connected to hot jumper wire will be the opposite, either down or up.
If window is all the way up, jumping hot to up side will make no noise, and cause nothing. So you try the other motor wire to see if motor makes window go down. See, you have to jump hot wire to both to verify the motor works or not.

My panel light is out, and my windows won't work


Could be a ground problem . Do you know power ? B+ voltage circuits an ground ? You would need to look at a wiring diagram an a power an ground distribution diagram to see if these two thing's have anything in common . Free wiring diagrams at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html . Videos on you tube on basic automotive electrical trouble shooting , plus voltage drop testing . Doing some basic electrical circuit test's is the way to find electrical problems . Then again it could be two different problems , power window problems can be caused by broken wires in the rubber boot from the body to the driver door main switch. Could be any number of thing's causing these two problems . Unless you have good knowledge of electrical trouble shooting an reading wiring diagrams , this could be something best left to a professional tech .

2003 Dodge Ram 2500 Windows don't work.


Did you check voltage at the circuit breaker? Goes hot with the key on. Use a test light to check voltage.

Just to add, the wiring diagram I looked at, no bcm control.

At the wire harness, hinge side of driver door, tan wire is voltage and black wire is ground, check both. I saw what you replaced,but, you didn't say you had good voltage and ground for the system?

Dealers-hmmph.
You may have to keep looking for another broken wire. To the driver's master switch, a tan wire looks like the hot wire (feed) for the switch. And a black wire is ground, originating at the master switch and going back into the cabin with the wire harness, and then to a nearby ground source, probably behind the left kick panel. If you pull the master switch off, key on,, check for power on the tan wire terminal of the switch connector. Use a test light or a voltmeter. Now if you have a hot wire on the connector, put one volt meter lead on the hot wire terminal and the negative lead onto the black wire terminal. If ground is good, voltmeter will read battery voltage. If ground is lost, voltmeter will show nothing. Same with test light-check for a hot wire with key on. If yes, put test light lead on hot wire and use probe to touch ground-if ground is good, tester will light up. Alternatively, you could remove the left kick panel and check the security of the ground to frame there.
The only place I know for a wiring diagram would be a repair manual. Haynes manuals are about the best (about $25 at parts stores), short of a factory service manual for big bucks.
If still no luck with windows, and no hot wire with key on, pull the circuit breaker for the windows on the fuse panel under dash. With key on,. one of those terminals for the circuit breaker should show power. Ground a test light and probe both terminals to check for power. If no power there, check under hood fuses or fuse links that feed the fuse box. If CB has power available, well, that's the feed for the tan wire-sounds like either the tan wire or the black ground wire may have a break. If power to switch, check ground wire.
As a last resort, try a new circuit breaker if powered at CB terminal but nothing at driver's switch. If power is to switch on tan wire, and ground is working, consider that you may have gotten a defective master switch-not likely, but known to happen.

I have checked the ground wire in the drivers door ?????? what about B+ voltage to the switch ? These vehicles wires from the body to the door break inside the rubber boot . Looking at a wiring diagram (so U know what wire is what ) Test with test light ,voltmeter etc... Video's on youtube for testing electrical circuits . Plus these systems are controlled by a DDM - driver door module .

Electric windows not working but locking the doors when you push it


Had the same issue, both doors controls stopped working at the same time making the power windows, power mirrors, and power door locks all stop working. However, when the engine was off the door lock would work. It could be many things, but the fact that they all quit working at the same time suggested it wasn't an individual motor. I pulled the door main control panel and with a wiring diagram checked the continuity of each switch through the electrical plug out back. You can get the diagram off kiatechinfo.com

The main door control turned out to be good (expensive part). It wasn't getting power to the control, which meant it was either a broken power wire or a bad ground interrupting the circuit. The easiest to test was the ground. I ran a small wire from the negative battery and put it in the main ground wire on the back of "main door control panel". Worked perfectly on both doors. Apparently the ground for the door accessories are somewhere on the floor board, they corroded from a leaking sunroof. Never could find the bad ground so i just ran a new ground wire to it from the engine (drill a screw into body and attach wire)

There could be a lock controller somewhere that is not working.
I don't have a wiring diagram for your truck.

Generally, the power window motors are grounded thru the doors, or the switches provide ground. In your case the motors are probably grounded thru the doors.
The master switch "overrides" the door switch so you have extra wires that do the same thing. The E wire probably gives the door switch power and the A and C are up and down. The B and D are override circuits from the master that bypass the door switch.
Sometimes the motor is grounded thru the switch then thru the door.
