Looks like a problem with the idle air control stepper motor. Many times its just dirty and needs to be cleaned.

SOURCE: Very rough idle on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited Edition V8

If you haven't changed the plugs or had the fuel system cleaned, now would be a good time to do it. The number 1 culprit for rough idles is dirty injectors or plugs. You can try an injector cleaner in a can (or bottle) for under $10 and see if it helps, and then work from there. If there isn't any improvement then if you are able to, check the plugs for any gunky buildup and if you find a bad plug, make sure you replace them all (or have them replaced) at the same time.

SOURCE: Jeep won't stay running when idling

The throttle plate is supposed to be closed at idle...Idle air enters through a port controlled by the iac valve which takes its instructions from the computer. BUT...the computer only knows what it has been "told" by other sensors...throttle position sensor map sensor and manifold air temperature sensors all have a lot to do with this. The iac valve can be removed and cleaned with carb cleaner, as can the passages that lead to and from it. DO NOT turn the plunger on the valve and don't loose the small "o" ring seal.
Always check all vacuum hoses and connections before working on other parts. Often you will find a small vacuum leak that when corrected avoids major work. You can test nearly all components using a digital volt ohmeter and a manual such as chiltons or haynes as a guide. (cheap...around twenty bucks) Careful testing avoids buying expensive parts you don't need.
Ask if you need specific help with anything.
Good luck

Having problems with fuel delivery seems to stall out at idle after it has been running awhile, i have changed fuel filter and spark plugs. 1994 jeep grand cherokee laredo with 318 v8 engine.

go to an electronics shop supplier and get a can of freeze spray.
it cools to -60f. let the jeep run until it misbehaves ,then cool down the ignition module.if it runs, you know it is bad. you could have either a heat related electronic issue,or something like a frozen egr valve ,or iac motor that keeps leaning and leaning out the mixture.
the catalytic converter could be plugged...usually a sulfur smell is with that and setoff the check engine light.
,the computer controls the idle and the fuel injection.
you may have an issue in the ecm itself. cooling down the ecm will let you know if there is an issue.
even a distributor cap that is cracked can heat up and fail
and the lead wires themselves.
