Definately a likely cause. The brake lights are controlled by a switch that is located next to the brake pedal. When you push the brake pedal, the switch moves and turns on the lights. If your brake pedal is loose or the switch is not aligned just right, it could cause your brake lights to fail intermittently.

Most likely fault is a holder connection ,their is no seperate fuse .this is caused by people sitting at traffic lights with foot on the brake insteads of neutral and handbrake on ,showing my age here i think handbrake on?? foot off clutch clout across knees from instructor ....morris minors vauxhall vivas british motor bikes and mini skirts pirate radio stations
