SOURCE: 2006 Hyundai Elantra horn does not work

Hi the only things i can think of here would be the following

Faulty horn switch

Faulty horn (the bit that goes beep ;-)

The relay for the horn

or somewhere in the wiring it is shorting out and making the horn fail

I wouldnt let the dealer give me the car back until they have checked all of these all very simple jobs

Hope this helps

SOURCE: no power to the horn switched relays around still

hello, it is common for chrysler to use no horn fuse! what they use in place is the "clockspring". the clockspring is located in steering columb under the wheel....does your cruise control work (if equipped)? if no cruise control function it is most likely a bad clockspring!..... good luck, marty

First this only applies if your cruise buttons are on your steering wheel. If so look into a possible problem with the clockspring mounted in your steering column! Good Luck!

SOURCE: Turn signals work intermittantly on 2005 Dodge GC SXT

It sounds like your multifunction switch is faulty and will need to be replaced. The multifunction switch is a combination of your signal and wiper/washer switches all in one unit and is not servicable and is replaced as a whole unit .

Horn works sometimes on stearing wheel and keyost on my 2003 suburban 1500LT then sometimes it doesn't

bad ground to horn
bad relAY TO HORn
bad wires to all horn circuits
bad horn button.
bad clockspring contacts in steering hub.

no matter way we use a voltmeter to solve this, riddle in 5min work.

i always start in the middle (training) to make 1/2 the possible go byebye in 1 simple test.
if the relay dont pull in at failure, bingo. 1/2 problem solved.
is this clear?
that would say the relay is bad, or power to it lost
or the horn button path is dead.
causing 2 more simple tests.
ask. if you own a $10 meter... volt meter. of any kind ever made.

This is just a wild guess. Try unhooking one of the battery cables and leave it off for at least 20 minutes. When you hook it back up the computers

should re-boot. That has solved problems for me with heater, interior lites, power windows, AC, day time running lites, power

mirrors, fast idle, rough or slow shifting, CD player, and wipers on GM autos and S-10 PU and Dodge trucks. None of the

switches are connected to the device they control anymore. The switch tells the computer to open the window and the computer

send a signal to the window motor. When the computer gets confused strange things will happen or not happen. Of course you

may have to re-set your radio stations.

1999 toyota avalon horn works intermitely

I would suggest to you to have the spiral cable (or 'clockspring') replaced. This is the electrical unit that transfers power to the air bag, the horn and the cruise control.

It is located right under the seering wheel.

Your description of the issue indicates to me that your spiral cable is loose, and making intermittant contact. If the vehicle had an air-bag deployment, this cable-device should have been changed.

2001 Malibu - turn signal & horn problems

Google Service Bulletin No. 04098A. There is a recall for the hazard switch. My car's vin is not within the range, but I have the blinker problem. I was told by the Chev. 800 number that if a dealer determines that is the problem they will replace it. You can also buy the switch for about $20 and replace it yourself if you don't want to have to deal with a service dept.

Horn And turn signals

try moving the tilt wheel feature up and down to see if the condition worsens or improves. There's a ribbon cable on the outside of that column that may have worn off the insulation in some spots. If that's it, you'll need a steering wheel puller to get to it. You may not have to replace the cable, just insulate it from inside the column. You can use tape, but a wide piece of heat shrink, cut along one side would be cleaner.
