SOURCE: tachometer working fine one day then just stops

The Tachometer usually get its drive pulses from the coil. Check the connection of the wires and connecting plugs around the coil. If that doesn't fix it, check the multipin connecting plug on the rear of the instrument panel in the dash.

2001 honda civic xe tachometer stopped working & no engine light came on

I simply changed the spark plugs and made sure to look under the driver seat dash where all the electrical wires were and simply started to trace wires, jiggled to see if any were loose, checked my fuses, and on the clutch there is a plastic sensor that needed to be pushed back into its spot..reseated and whaa laa it was fixed.

so my advice, check for any loose wires under you dash board in the driver seat before you go spending money on other peoples advice on this site because it should be for free in my opinion. but thats my opinion.
