Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. check all of your vacuum lines for cracks or breaks. see if any are missing.

Ok i have a 92 chevy corsica and after it has been running awhile when i go to slow down to stop at a stop sign the car dies how do i fix it

well if it runs normal when your driving then it sounds like a gas problem or maybe you need to adjust your idle a little bit, other than that it could be fuel filter or carburetor adjustments

My accelerator on my 91 chevy corsica is stuck and it wont disengage, when i put it in park the engine continues to rev up, any ideas on how to fix?

It sounds like the gas control lever under the hood may be sticking a little and not retracting fully to idle.Open your hood and have someone start your car. When they give it some gas you should see the actuator move which has a cable attached, probably located at the end of the fuel injectors on the driver side.It should be pretty noticeable as about the only moving mechanism when the gas pedal is pushed.Usually pushing the gas pedal makes the lever move toward the driver.Once you have found it,push down on it in the opposite direction as giving gas to see if the revs decrease back closer to idle.If it does,WD-40 on the hinge where it pivots may help.Spray it,rev it a couple times and check.Even if it works on the first try,do it a couple more times. If this does not work, please reply back and I will get an auto link to see what you posted. Good luck! Greg

Running problems

Idle air control valve or a vacuum leak, the idle air control valve controls the amount of air let into your engine when you start or while running you holding your foot on the gas lets more air in.

1990 chevy corsica 3.1 liter v6 engine. started ran fine went shopping and on my way home it dies out of no where, start it back up give it gas dies again. it will run in idle but sounds rough and as soon...

Coils and wires are the most likely culprits as they never get replaced hardly ever. You cant really test a coil, you can check for resistance on the plug wires but that doesnt tell you if the insulation is bad on them.

Hi, My Corsica 92 start well but stops when I

Could be your idle air control valve is not allowing the engine to idle properly when you put a load on it.

92 chevy corsica when starting engine reves real high and then idles normal what could cause this?

as , with most corsicas , around that time , it seems that there is a general problem with the cruise control . . .
try unhooking the arm that connects the cruise control to the engine . . . should be easy to take off ,
and see if that helps the problem
