I have the same problem. It only happens every few months and usually when it is cold and wet out. I checked my power steering fluid level and it is fine.

Does this seem to happen more in the morning, or when it is cold out, or when the car has been sitting for awhile?

    Or just on wet roads?

Ok, two issues you should check out. one, check the power steering pump and fluid level. Make sure the power steering pump belt is tight and in good shape. secondly, i would run a check on the entire steering assembly. all linkages and that right wheel hub. there may be some issues with it. the main issue is the power steering pump assembly. make sure theres enough fluid in it.

Check if the battery is damp or wet, that is usually what causes it for me. I am in the process of getting a cover for it, or putting electrical tape over it.

Definitely sounds like the the PDB is getting wet. Simulate rain with a water hose w/ a nozzle gun. Spray it on the windshield and around the hood area and track where the water goes to determine what's getting wet.

Power steering makes noise that changes with the speed of the car. The power steering goes out during any rain event. 150,000 miles, original engine.

If the P/S pump is not low of fluid and you have not just recently added P/S fluid then the pump needs replacing. If you recently added fluid to the pump and it was low it may have air in the system. Start the engine and turn the steering wheel fully to the right and fully to the left 10 times. This will remove any trapped air.

If you feel this rattle while driving at low speed or turning at low speed it is likely a worn out steering shaft coupler, it is very common.

My weels are hard to turn is it the pump?

check your power steering fluid level. If it's low, or overfilled, get it to the right level. If it's at the right level, it's likely that you may need a new power steering pump

03 Trailblazer Front End Noise/Vibration

I had similar problem with my 03 trailblazer. It had a low dull hum in the front end with a little vibration being felt in gas pedal. Noise increased over a couple weeks and was louder turning to the left and quiter turning to right. A GM mechanic friend of mine replaced the front right hub and took care of the problem. Hub was about $160 at Autozone.
