SEARCH AUTO STARTER ON LINE...THEY WILL SHOW YOU A PHOTO OF A STARTER.  I SUGGEST YOU TAKE IT TO A REPAIR SHOP AS THIS IS GOING TO BE HARD FOR YOU.

I have an 89 grand marques, it has lights when you open the doors, and it clicks when you turn on the key, but it won't crank over. Trying to figure out why

I am posting for an f150, but it esentially has the same starting system. Just because your lights and radio come on does not mean there is enough juice to start the engine. Put a charger on your battery then try it. Better yet, I would take the battery out, take it to your local part store, have them charge it up and test it for a dead cell. Also, clean all your connections at the battery and solenoid and starter and make sure they are tight, same thing with your ground at the engine block.

I have a 2008 nissian Altima 3.5 I changed the battery and starter and the car starts but the starter wont disengage and making a horrible noise and is the same thing that made me change the starter

You need to look at a wiring diagram to see what controls the starter ! Possibly a starter relays contacts are stuck closed keeping B+ voltage applied to the starter ! You can find free wiring diagrams at http://bbbind.com/free_tsb.html .I also see a electronic control module is involved . There are two relays starter control relay and starter relay !

You need a wiring diagram to start your testing

Guessing won't get it,waste of time

It is old enough to be a fusible link corroded

Some things work some don't,starting circuit
included if not a bad starter & separate problem

You can solve almost looking at a wiring diagram
as you know what deosn't work

Won't start

How about corroded battery cables (internal)

Fusible Link wiring corroded & open circuit, does
everything electrical work except the starting circuit?

Turn key & have power to starter solenoid ?
Neutral Switch !
Ignition Switch !

Tough to guess without wiring diagrams,
to see where to start testing

Can't fix what you don't know you have

A wire is off my starter it rusted of 2001 fprd expoditon i need a wiring diagram

1st off if it goes to your starter there should be an eye connector still attached to the connection ...if you can locate it i would replace the connector and either strip back the wire enough to reattach it or simply add a new length of wire but you should not need a diagram but if you truly do as you don't see any traces of where it attached then please ask but i would look 1st as it should be identifiable fairly easily

Starter on 1994 oldsmobile bravada

It will be where your engine meets the transmission. When it juices up, it sticks a gear out that connects to your flywheel then retracts after you stop cranking the engine.

Easy way to identify a starter, it will have a thick red battery cable bolted to it (actually bolted to the solenoid). This cable also connects to your battery. A starter is cylindrical, heavy, about 10 inches or so long and about 4+ inches in diameter.
