Check the fuel pressure at the filter. Odds are the lift pump, located below the filter, is toast. Continual cranking of the motor with a bad LP wil cause the injector pump to heat up and burn out. Replace the LP and fuel filter. Bleed the system by cracking the inlet to the injector pump and bumping the enigine over so the LP will run. Once you have fuel at the injector pump, crack injectors 1,3,and 4. Crank the motor for no more 6 or 7 seconds at a time until it turns over. Give the pump time to cool for a couple of mintues between cranks. This process is easier with two people, one to crank and the other to watch for fuel and tighten the injectors once it starts. If the injector pump is fried at this point from cranking with no fuel, the motor should idle, but will stumble all over itself when the throttle is applied.

You said you have fuel flowing from the inlet line of the injection pump? But not at the injector lines?

Diesel engines fire on compression alone (usually 400psi).The Truck may have air trapped in the fuel system. When you perform any fuel system repair on a diesel it is going to take alot of cranking to get the air out. You can take the breather loose and shoot a VERY small amount of starter fluid in the intake and it should start. Do not use starting fluid much as it can damage the engine. Good Luck.

do yourself a favor and take the truck to a fuel diesel injection shop the larger nut is just a cover but the smaller one is an adjustment if you remove either on you could damage the pump

SOURCE: WONT START
i have a 96 2500 and i have found that if both batteries are not hooked up with a really good connection that the fuel shut off relay will not engage . it will just crank and crank with no start. it is located on the driver side of engine just about the center of the engine .its round and has a chrome rod coming out the bottom of it .it is mounted with the rod on the bottom .you can move it by hand but it will not lock in place unless you have the ignition switch in the start position. there is a couple of relays for it mounted on the fire wall .hope this helps someone
