back side of block under intake if its a 2.2 or a 2.3 if its a 3.0 its on the passenger side of engine bay if you turn the wheel you will be looking at it

make sure you disconnect the battery then you can begin to take the alternator aloose. first youll have to take the belt off if its a serpintine belt youll have to pull the tensioner so that you can pull the belt off the tensioner pulley may have a slot in it that would allow you to put the end of a ratchet into it if not youll have to pull it back by the bolt thats in the middle of the pulley. once the belts off then you can proceed to take the bolts out make sure you remember which bolt goes where (only if one bolt is longer than the other).once the bolts are out you should be able to get it off of the vehicle now .also you may need to take the wire harness off before you take it off but if you can work it while the harness is still in place then thats fine and reverse the process to put the new one back on. wish you the best.

ok ....take a look at your slide pins make sure that there not frozen if this is the case than you may have to heat them to free them up..........also this could be a abs issue i would need to know if your abs light is on if so you would have to take to your local repair shop to read the codes ,,,,good luck
