Question about 1992 Pontiac Firebird
I just replaced the battery on my 1992 Firebird and everything works except one thing. There is a switch to control the locks that open the compartment behind the back seat to fold the top into. Without pulling the switch I can hear these locks going on and off on a cycle about every two seconds. They will not stop, car on or off. The timing seems to be on a pattern.
I have a manual but there is no mention of this area in the electrical section whatsoever, not even an acknowledgement that it exists, even though I can see the cables coming out of the switch. They are routed through the trunk and then up above the wheel well and I wasn't up for tearing my car apart just to see where they go.
Anyway, kind of on odd problem. If anybody with a convertible top has ever seen this or can point me in the right direction that would be wonderful. Thanks.
If you can see the actual electrical line going to the locks, why not cut a switch into the line so that you can turn it off? Not the 100% correct answer but you could turn it on & off.
