I replaced the main belt and two days later the car dies on the freeway. The next day I start the car and it runs until i tried to test drive it around. The carb is getting gas but no sparks at either the plug or at the coil. Suggestions?

PLeas place back old ignition coil, if you getting this problem after long run or after car gets hot, it is problem of fuel pump ,if pump motor is faulty , then it can cause problem in hot condition , replace fuel pump your problem will solve. thanks.
I think you need to replace the pick-up coil under the distributer cap>The ignition modual can cause this but useually would'nt last for more than a few minutes. If you take off the distributer cap and remove the rotor button and then remove the plate under where the rotor button was you will find the pick-up coil.note;you will need a 5.5mm socket to remove the plate but a 7/32 in. socket can be tapped on.
Hello you say no spark again well in the past i have replaced coils on Fords same day the coil pack quit!.So perhaps return it as a faulty pack.Manufactures still makeing defective parts!.Also if you have service engine light on you should have a OBD 2 scan to retreve any electrical faults might be.
