Have the fault codes read as the engine light is telling you something has failed.

SOURCE: 98 ford windstar has clicking noise under dash and won't start

The clicking noise is most likly the starter solinoid cycling in and out. This is due to low battery voltage. charge the battery, then have the battery and charging system tested. Some auto supply stores will do this for free for you in the hopes of selling parts

good luck

next time that happens... have him turn the key while someone else smack the starter with a hammer (not hard enough to break the case). it should start... if it does replace the starter as it is failing... the clicking you hear are the relays ... semi normal sound

Turn key, no start, dash dead, but intermittent symptons

First I would look for voltage drop of both end of battery terminal.not a look or seem tight . you have to do it (voltage drop) and terminal at alternator.
now does alternator charging. take voltage of battery
if the problem occur have voltage of battery taken
like I read your problem it looks like wiring terminal ground and positive
the noise you hear is probably low voltage to a relay and the dropping voltage make the relay switch inside relay cycling noise click or buzz

My BMW 528i takes some time to start. I have to continuously keep turning the switch then it will eventually crank. I read another problem that was solved so now I know what to do about that but as I was...

You did not mention the year of your car, but the mention of the dash computer narrows it down a bit. For the fuse box, check the top of your glove box or under the hood near the firewall.
Next time the starter fails to crank, find a stick or a thin piece of pipe that will fit down the left side (US Driver side) of the engine and touch the starter. Give it a couple of good sharp taps. If the next turn of the key cranks the motor, you have classic symptoms of a failing Bosch starter motor.
Replacing this starter is not difficult, but it is time-consuming, so the labor cost far exceeds the cost of the part.

Location of heater assembly fire wall bolts and how to remove heater core on my 1993 YJ Wrangler?

you will need to remove the heater housing(air box) . the blower is mounted in it. start by removing the control cables (slide your heater controls and you will see them move under the dash),they just snap in place.be careful not to break the plastic tabs. unhook the defroster tube(looks like a corrugated paper pipe in the center and on the top of the housing). unplug the wire harness in the upper corner of the passenger side. now under the hood remove both heater hoses. then remove the four mounting nuts on the firewall [they are 7/16] . one nut is on right side of the battery.one just left of the battery. one is under the battery toward the bottom of the firewall.the 4th is by the left rear corner of the valve cover. there may be an accelerator cable loom snapped over this stud,it just pries off. lay a towel or rags on passenger floor to catch any anti freeze. with all 4 nuts now removed, pull the housing away from the firewall.you may have to tilt the bottom out slightly. once the housing is removed take it to your work bench. There will be a metal panel on the fire wall side of the air box remove the screws to remove this panel to gain access to the heater core. fairly simple, but the nut under the battery can be a pain to get to.

Which fuse is for flasher and turn signals on a 94 geo metro?

The hazard/turn signal relay (flasher) is located on top the the under dash fuse box. To replace the flasher, remove the fuse box retaining bolts and locate the flasher at the right rear corner. Pull gently to remove the flasher. Replace the one of like kind.

ea47ebe.jpg

The fuse box is located under the left side of the dash. Additional fuses are located in the fuse and relay box in the engine compartment.

Hope helped with this. remember rated this help, good luck.

They are almost always located along the steering column under the dash or to the left of it under the dash. They are usually a smallish black or grey box. Sometimes you can turn the turn signal on even if it is out and a ticking sound will emit from the relay can be heard. Good Luck!
