Audi a4 2006 automatic gear shifter button is stuck when car is in parking

My audi a4 2006 gear shifter button is stuck when put in parking. Because of this i cannot take the key off the ignition switch. I understand that since the button is stuck the car will not recognized it is in parking and hence the key will not come out. The stop light switch works perfectly so i think its not the problem that maybe the problem can be fixed by buying a new shift lever. Any suggestion about what the problem really is?

SOURCE: audi a3 1998 automatic transmission cannot shift into gear

have you checked the brake lights for operation ?
if they don't work than it is your brake light switch located on the pedal support bracket.

SOURCE: My key is stuck in

Start vehicle. Place in Drive. Move slightly forward on a flat surface. Stop. With foot on brake, place in park. Check to see if button has properly extended. If so, remove key. If not, attempt to slightly rock vehicle back & forth using body weight. Check button extended. If extended, remove key.

My audi a4 is stuck in neutral I push the clutch in an cannot put into any gears? do u kno what it may be?

If the gears grind when you try to put the shifter into gear, chances are you've got a bad slave cylinder, or master clutch cylinder.
