No voltage at fan when dial is set for any speed. The pneumatic switch I have set to different settings- no power at fan.

  • snclvc Mar 12, 2009

There is power on the red and black to the blower resistor. I don't know what colors are in and out on the fan dial. I don't have a wiring schematic- is there one available on line?

no voltage at fan. Could the pneumatic pump be messed up- I don't hear the air exchange sound when I turn the a/c switch?

  • snclvc Mar 13, 2009

Ignition is turned to on. Is it the a/c fuse? If so it is ok- I don't see a blower motor fuse. as to power in and out, I don't know which colors to check- no diagram you see. What about pnuematics- could that be where the problem is?

I could not find any free diagrams available.

I tried a new blower resistor and it did not fix the problem. Fan switch has 8 pneumatics and at least six different colored wires coming out. I really don't know which ones to check or bypass.

blower fuse was fine and i switched fan relay with another- no go

I'll just replace the control swotches and see if that works.

usually fan will work even if your diverter doors do not,and u have power at the resistor circuit,so to me the problem is at fan relay circuit that start blower fan,its 30amp fuse located underhood fuse center marked hvac, fan relay is in there too, check it,i dont have exact diagram, wire colors are diffrent but base wiring should be very close.if not same!and if relay tests ok check for open ground wire.

are u checking voltage with ign. to on,if u look on this site, theres on line repair manuals, like alldata.did u check fuse and relay underhood and int.fuse box 20 amp fuse.

SOURCE: where is air conditioner recharge port

remember you will always charge an air conditioner on the low side. which is always on the larger hose. there is a smaller one which is the high side so stay away from the small one.. look up near the radiator and see if you see the dryer which is about 3 inches across and 8 inches long and looks like a cylinder.. on this device there is a port where you can charge it .. also this year might be up near the firewall .. they change locations too often .. thanks and holler if you need more. Hi Jim, If the vehicle is fitted with climate control it will have electronic management. However it can be wired by someone knowing electrical circuitry to by pass the control. It will save you some cash but will need manual control. Make sure whoever does the job knows what he or she is doing. Have a happy new year. Regards John

I have a 2002 GMC Savana Cargo van with a a/c and heater blower that will not work. The problem started when I lost the low speed, then the medium, and finally the highspeed. Fuses and relays are ok.

You checked the fuse and relay, did you check to see if you had power at the resistor ?
American built vehicles control fan speed by the power circuit which goes thru the resistor. The high speed usually bypasses the resistor.
You may need a new blower motor or control switch.

My 2003 gmc safari cargo van has been trying to overheat when I turn ac on what could it be?

If your gmc safari cargo van overheats when the ac is on, your radiator and cooling system may be clogged and not working at peak efficiency.

Make sure your radiator cooling fan goes on as soon as you turn the a/c on.

2003 gmc van the blower switch not working

Yes, definitly the blower motor resistor. Usually located just under the dash on the passenger side. Usually a result of mostiure entering the compartment where the resistor is located. Very common issue actually.
