Apparently there is a problem with the immobiliser system in my car, the toyota company that is fixing it said there are four different types of immobilisers in it and they think it is the the key reader,...

im sure they COULD, but there not going to, they always want to see how much money they can **** out of you before you change your mind about letting them fix your car, one of the cheapest ways to fix this is just to remove the alarm system all together, PLUS!!!!!!!!!! the 98 corolla doesnt even come equipped with a key reader, your dealership is messing with you, take it to a mechanic... key readers are only installed on vehicles with electronic keys, and your key definitely doesnt have a chip in it, good luck

Changing ecu for toyota corolla 2004 needs programming

The ecu doesnt have to be programmed for the car, it should start right up, unless its a bad ecu. Or a whole different problem. unless it has immobiliser.
