Pull the valve cover gaskets, clean them and replace them, there is no cheater way to do this. To pin point leak you'l need to look closely at the covers if oil is running down the sides towards front or back of motor (theres 2 covers, one front, one rear) if it is, you may be able to tighten bolts, but be careful not to strip them. If they are tight, youl need to change the cover gaskets

Is there a certain type of gasket or something else when there is a oil leak starting in a 1998 pontiac firefly

clean around the oil pan gasket area well as some oil leaks are actually rocker cover gasket and filter leaks that run down the block and appear as pan leaks.. Check front crankshaft seal as the oil from there also appears as a pan leak

1998 olds intrigue keeps running out of radiator fluid and hoses good

Is fluid leaking onto the ground? Onto the front floor? . If you cannot find an obvious leak, you may want to check you oil when car is cold. Look for traces of white goop, or water in the oil. Smell dipstick and see if it smells like gas . I'm leaning towadrs a head gasket if you cannot find a leak. More details will be needed to say anymore. Have a look for leaks first

Oil get into spark plug well. need to know how to replace the valve cover gasket on a 2003 dodge intrepid sxt . clean sparkplugs well of all oil and replaced sparkplugs

Hi
these are the things you need to do.

Allow the car engine to cool by letting the car sit idle for several hours. Lift the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the upper intake manifold assembly. Using the spark plug tool, remove the spark plugs. Disconnect the spark plug wires. This can be accomplished by pulling straight out on the boot. Locate the cylinder head and disconnect the closed ventilation system and evaporation control system from it.

Locate the left cylinder head cover and remove the DIS coil. Using the wrench, loosen and remove the rocker arm cover mounting bolts. Carefully remove the rocker arm cover from the cylinder head. Remove the gasket cover. Using the screwdriver, gently nudge the gasket to remove it from the seating area.

Using the automotive cleaner, remove any particles, oil or other remnants that were left by the old gasket. Place the new gasket in the gasket seating area. Using the torque wrench, tighten the rocker arm cover fasteners. Reverse the steps used to remove the parts

Complete the maintenance by adding oil to the car and allowing it to run idle for 10 to 15 minutes.

Can a burning smell come from a deteriorating 3.8 GM supercharger?

More then likely no... this is either the supercharger oil (sulfer smell) or from the rocker arm cover gasket leaking.... check if the rocker arm cover gasket is under recall?
