SOURCE: Left front turn signal bulb for 2001 Pontiac Montana

There is only one screw to remove that releases the mounting tab at the upper inner corner of the assembly. That screw has a plastic wingnut molded onto it so you can turn by hand. Once that is removed, the assembly can be pulled straight forward. At the inner bottom corner, a spring clip faces straight rearward. Pull with enough force to to release the clip from its slot. Only two "Fingers" hold the rear of the assembly in the sheet metal holes.

Recheck the bulb number. This happens when the wrong bulb number is installed. Otherwise it could be a bad headlight ground.

SOURCE: 97 Pontiac Trans Sport. Turn signal problem

verify the ground wire is good, black wire, its down on the frame rail, opposite of the air filter housing, if thats OK, it, could be the turn signal switch. but the wires go from the turn signal switch, through the Daytime Running Lights Module, through the fuse panel under the hood, then to the light socket. wire is light blue / white coming out of turn signal switch to DRL module, then its light blue all the way to the socket.

How do you change the headlight

On a Newer Vehicle you'll replace the Headlight Bulb
Open the engine compartment hood.

Locate the back of the headlight to determine the lamp and bulb type.
Decide which bulb you need to replace.
Purchase the correct bulb for your headlamp.
Behind the headlight the lamp the socket is removable.
Remove Socket then replace lamp (bulb).
Carefully re-install the socket

On Older vehicles:

Remove the screws that connect the headlamp frame to the
bracket holding the headlamp. Make certain you turn only
the screws that hold the lamp frame, not the adjusting screws.
Disconnect the electrical connector in the back of the lamp
by pulling the socket away from the headlamp with your hand.
Remove the headlight from the bracelet area and discard it.
Replace with the new headlight, making sure that it is positioned
right side up.
Plug the wire socket into the new headlight, which holding the
headlight securely.
Replace the headlight into the frame.
Place the frame onto the headlight bracket.
Reattach the screws to hold the frame and bracket in place.
Do not adjust the setting screws for the direction the headlight
shines.

At night partk in front of a wall and shine your lights on the wall
so see if the headlight shifted during installation.

more than likely the main headlamps control switch unit is at fault - common failure with this model - replace the complete switch assembly, and all circuits should return to normal.

I can help you out with the left turn signal not blinking. Maybe it's a flasher or the light bulbs aren't getting current through the wiring.

I can't help you out with the interior gauge lights not turning on when you turn the headlamps on. It may have to do with the headlamp switch, though.

I've never seen the lights on the radio not dim when the headlamp switch is turned on. hm.

Good luck on this repair.

Drivers side headlamps are dim the passenger side is fine went over everything i can think of replaced both bulbs, new headlamp connection, has 12v to the bulb.the headlamps are aftermarket enzo projecters

You are losing power to the head lamp due to a bad wire or a connection or a bad grounding. Check wiring along the harness. see if if it gets warm after the lapmp has been on for a while. Getting 12 V volts without the bulb is not an indication that it gets 12V when the lamp is on. It could be a dirty fuse holder, again it will get warm if it is bad after you have left the lamps on for a while

Driver's headlight is dim; wipers only work if headlight is off

Sounds like the jolt from the barrier has caused a bad ground to occur. Look for a bad ground wire around the left headlamp in or around the headlight bucket.
Tighten or replace the bad ground wire. A poor contact will cause the headlight to light dimly.

Right headlamp

Check the fuse for the passenger side.It is under the hood. it may not be making good contact. wiggle it a little bit and see if it makes any difference. if not, check where the the ground wires are connected to the chasis. See if thats not the problem.
