it is a very common problem with the 3800 series 2.
i have same issue and all i do is give a little more gas
    it downshifts and goes smoother.
a possible cause is not enough pressure in the transmission
i found that doing a transmission service lessens the shake

1997 Buick LeSabre has squeak noise coming from right front.

More likely this is a wheel bearing or CV joint than suspension components.

One good indication is if, when your making a right turn or accelerating, there is a shudder or shaking in the steering wheel then its likely a wheel bearing.

Another good indicator can be found when you jack up the suspicious wheel. Put one hand on the top of the wheel and one on the bottom and pull back and forth. If the wheel makes a clunking noise and moves in either direction, then wheel bearing is shot.
