Well if the bearing is out of the pump you will have to replace it or remove it and run a smaller belt.

Anything can be done. Just because the dealership won't do it doesn't mean much. I've done lots of stuff that people told me I couldn't do.

did your replace the whole cat?, if not is the cat still good? If not your might have to replace that. the cat cuts 80% of the emissions.

88 Ford F250, 5.0v8,fuel-inj. OBD1, EEC-IV Still failing CA smog. Tech says too much hydrocarbon &"It has a 'Lean' misfire too much O2. New Cats, front & rear, Single Exhaust, New plugs, & wires

Have you checked oxygen sensor operation and readings? A faulty o2 sensor can cause these issues. It may be sending an improper reading to the computer resulting in wrong air/fuel mixtures

I have a 96 t-bird there is a whole n the in the cayitis conveter will that cause back firing

Sorry to say, but the only legal option you have is to replace the cat. Chances are, if you tried to patch it somehow, the smog tech would see the patch next time you took it in to get a smog test and make you replace the cat anyway.
Good luck and Happy New Year,

Failed co emissions

If the cat converter is aftermarket, most of them are inadequate to reduce emissions enough on a big motor.

How to get the tube off the back of the smog pump on a 1989 cadilac seville

The tube is part of the air pump, you will just remove the hoses and then any other valves that are bolted to the pump,
If you are getting the correct aftermarket pump you will see what needs to be reused and what does not . here is a picture of the replacement pump , You will need the pulley. hope this is helpful. good day. here are a few pics of the new one ...12_25_2012_5_04_39_pm.jpg12_25_2012_5_05_00_pm.jpg12_25_2012_5_06_01_pm.jpg12_25_2012_5_07_02_pm.jpg12_25_2012_5_07_49_pm.jpg

I need to know what smog equipment the 1976 ford F250 had on it to pass the Ca smog requirements

None. Yes I said it right, None. Belive it or not in 1976 trucks were not required converters, air pumps and could run on leaded or unleaded gas. Man I've been doing this too long and I'm getting old.

The jeep has air injection and this is part of the air pump. The cat should have two ports.. These tubes should have check valves to prevent backfire.Usually their routed up on both sides of motor and attached at the air cleaner abouts

Bad catalytic converter?

Log onto www.partstrain.com. I believe they have Catalytic converters for your pathfinder for under $200.00, there OEM direct fit which means no cutting other then removing the old bolts.
If it is the Catalytic converter you can always buy it from on line and have a muffler shop install it like speedy or midas. Make sure you ask for stainless bolts and nuts.
Before you go through all the trouble, re check the DTC codes. Most of the time it's the O2 sensors that go bad and i question the garage charging you so much for the replacement of a catalytic converter.
Good luck and keep me posted.

Failing smog computor says cataletyc not ready it has a knew converter

Check the oil level, to much can ruin catalytic converter. Check O2 sensors with scanner, make sure they are work accurately. Check air box while car running, apply aceteline gas with no flame, recheck scanner for O2 sensors flucuatation. Compare all sensors for flucuation of 1mv to 9mv. If sensors flucuate they are good, if no flucuation sensors need to be changed. recommend to change cat with bad sensors. Before changing cat check for bad pressure.
