Fuel Pump I have replaced three fuel pumps on my Jeep wrangler renegade. I have been toled that my gas tank doesnt have the reserve in the middle of the tank and thats the reason it's burning out my pumps. That just doesnt sound right to me. Anyone have a better solution?

You can try to replace the whole gas tank with one from a salvage yard and ask if you can get the fuel pump in it here is a website if you need it junkyarddog.com and you can also try autozone.com to see if they have your car listed for diagrams pictures and step by step instructions if your car is not listed then try your local library they have all the car manuals and even copy them for you

I've never heard of this. Where are you getting the fuel pumps? Are they made by carter? It is more likely that low voltage or weak ground would be burning them up.

Inspect and make sure the vent line from the tank to the filler neck is clear and not kinked and the cannister is not plugged. If both are ok (and usually are) the problem is caused by a sticking control valve on the top of the fuel tank. Unfortunately, the valve is molded into the tank and therefore only serviced with the fuel tank assembly so the tank will have to be replaced.

Where is the fuel filter located on a 2005 Jeep Liberty 3.7L renegade

This year and model does not have a stand alone in-line filter, the filter is on the suction side of the fuel pump inside the fuel tank and under normal conditions is only replaced when the pump is replaced (comes with the new pump). This true of all late meodel Chyrsler Products.

It's very possible that your fuel tank vent hose is bloked or kinked.

It could be the pump but you need to verify if you can hear the pump running after it stalls and you turn the key back on to try and start it. If you don't hear it it isn't running.
The pump is inside the tank but it dosen't come inside, you need to put it in there. That requires removing the tank. On a 90, there is a filter mounted on the chassis near the left rear tire. I'd replace that first as if you replace the pump, that should be replaced as well and if it's plugged up it may in fact be the only problem.

My 1991 jeep wrangler fuel pump is not turning on? I don't know what is wrong.

If you are positive that your fuel pump is not working, then it is time to replace it.

You can find the fuel pump either inside the engine compartment or inside the gas tank, depending on the engine that you have in your wrangler.

Since it is likely that you have the inline 6 cylinder 4.0, the pump is most likely inside the tank.

Go ahead and pull it if you are sure that is the problem and take it to be tested by your local auto parts store.

How to replace a fuel pump on jeep wrangler (95)

i'm pretty sure jeep had their pumps in the tank. you can phone parts place to double check. If it is in the tank, you will have to drop the tank in order to access it. Other vehicles have a latch or door thing that will allow you access from the top. pretty sure the jeep does not have this. you will have to disconnect all of the hoses and hopefully your tank is almost empty or else they weigh a ton.....then just take out the old sending unit, put on a new fuel pump and put it back...simplified version, but it will give you a gerneral idea. when i first dropped mine, it took me 1/2 a day, now i can do it in about 1.5-2 hrs
