Question about 2005 Porsche Cayenne Turbo

I have porsche cayanne turbo 2005 engine temprature overheating, i have changed almost everything and it is still overheating. I have changed the engine coolant, I changed the radiater, I have changed the thermostate, I have changed the catlists, and the turbo catalysts, and I just changed the fans, and chamged the relays of the fans. temp stays at 80, but when i press on the fuel and keep pressing (RPM on 3) the temp goes slowley and reach up to 90 c. Please help

    Thank you Gentlmen for offerring your help!!! I did all of that, changed the water tank, changed the cap. I am thinking of removing the thermostate at all and Also will try to change the water pump.

    all the technichens here are saying, when porsche start to heats up more than normal, its impossible to fix and i have to install new engine. I am afraid if this is correct... any idea!!!

It is possible that the water pump fins are wore out so the water pump isn't moving enough water. replace the water pump.

we will usually check fuses and relays first. then put power directly to the fans and see if they power on. this will narrow down your problem

the repair manual is hard to find, now check the quality of engine oil , maybe need to replace and oil filter, try to use an high grade oil, for example, if now is using 5w_20 then use 10w_40

I'm assuming that this is a 5 speed stick car because you mentioned 80-90 oil. This car has a transaxle, not a a separate transmission and differential. The transaxle houses the transmission gears and the differential all in one housing. There is a drain plug on the bottom a fill plug on the side. Check this out. Had the same problem. Easy fix. When you pull up at the lights does it blow steam everywhere as your water drips onto the exhaust. Next step is the water gets onto the coils engine light comes on and it mis fires!! Anyway solution. As it is doing it when you look at the bottom of the expansion tank you will see the water dripping. The tanks had a weakness and have I believe now been modified. Take it off and put your fingers over two of the three pipe holes, then blow down the other. Wifes often good at this!!! You will here a hissing as the tank has a pin hole in. It comes out fast as the pressure builds. To remove the tank undo the air box (1 x 10mm bolt and the screw on the large jubilee clip) Then undo the two petrol pipe bolts ensure your engine is cold. You should need a seventeen mm spanner. Then just under the engine lid you will see a 10mm nut which you need to undo. The box then slide forward toward the middle of the car and then back in a fastion!!! Give it a good blow you will see it. If you really must get in the bath with it and do it under the water.
Now get another and replace it.

2004 porsche cayanne turboe valve adjustment


Most vehicles including Porshe V8 have hydraulic valve lifters, only early 911's had mechanical lifters as I recall, was a pain to adjust every 20K or so. If you are hearing a tap, it is probably stuck valve lifter, try Lucas Oil Additive to unplug it and free it up.

As stated in your handbook under "warning symbols" this is a general warning light which is basically informing you of a message that needs to be addressed by accessing your menu messages. It's located on the end of the arm with the rocker switch and another switch right below it. Navigate through the menu to find "warning messages". Here you'll find what needs to be addressed. Hope this helps.

Posche Cayenne Trubo 2005 cylinder 5 gives only 20 compression what could be the reason, no overheating nor overrev If the cause is a valve, how could have happened?


You could have a cracked block or worn rings. Even with no over-revving or overheating bad oil or low oil can cause this to happen. Could also be a defective part.

Timing chain on 2005 Porsche Cayenne


I am not a Cayenne guy but first and formost the timing belt on Porsche's absolutely must be changed every 60k miles or sooner and the water pump every other time, just for good measure. A rough idle after 1 hour driving does not sound like a timing belt issue to me. I would call/attend a local Porsche Club of America (PCA) event and ask around as to who the best mechanic/shop owner is. In the mean time, IF it is the timing belt DON'T DRIVE IT!!!!! if the belt breaks while the engine is running, you may as well buy a new engine! Get very familiar with everything Porsche and your vehicle will last and love you for a very long time. If you don't it will destroy you and your pocket book!

How to change trasmision oil in a cayeenne


Ahhh just likemany expensive cars, the Cayanne is no different. The dealer soaks you on the price and the Manufacturer soaks you with Maintenance that you SHOULD be able to do easliy but they make it very hard to do.
Built in future business.

There are drain plugs under the car but there is a procedure to Overfilling the trani and then running it so a certain amount drains out of the Fill hole.
I don't have the specific directions but it is exteremely messy.

My 04 cayanne turbo blower fan unit (inside air) hesitates about 30 seconds from start up before blowing air. Is this normal?


i just fixed that problem on my 2003 cayenne turbo it is low voltage from the battery itself wich the porsche management system will shut it down to save other things replace battery with a good one under left hand side seat
