Question about 1996 Lincoln Town Car
My Lincoln overheated when my wife was dropping off my kids at scouts. I swapped cars with her, I filled the Lincoln with water (it took a little more than a gallon) and drove it home 10 miles with no more over heating. I let it idle in my driveway for 20 minutes with the air cinditioner wide open and it has not overheated. I want to flush the radiator and change the thermostat just to be safe.
The thermostat is in the housing bolted to the intake that the upper radiator hose goes to. Check the Intake manifold for leaks, these are prone to cracking the Intake. Check the front crossover behind the alternator and check the rear where the heater hose is hooked.
