Question about 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee
I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee that worked fine before and now it just wont move when putting it in gear?
i also have a 98 jeep grand cherokee i was wondering if i could use the transmission from the 98 and put it in the 93 ? but the 98 is 4 wheel drive while the 93 is 2 wheel drive but can be switched to 4 wheel drive
No, not with out a lot of work. Electronics are most likely different on the 2 also.

OK...I have a 93 outside...one diagram I have shows an ignition module next to coil...but there is none on mine, (4.0 engine)
Two items to check are crank sensor and cam sensor inside distributor. Test procedure can be found in just about any manual including haynes.
You will need a decent volt/ohm meter to do testing. You can also check codes by turning ignition switch on/off three times, leaving it on the third time. Check engine will flash code #'s (ex: one flash, pause two flashes= the number twelve.then followed by a longer pause then another set of flashes etc.)

Not if it locked mechanically. Ive had good luck using a pipe wrench sideways on the balancer to turn some over that were pretty frozen up.
