Question about Buick Century

Where is the fuel pressure regulator on a 1990 buick century

The car will crank up then it will run (drive) but when I stop and cut the key off and try to start up again it will not crank up it sounds like it is flooded but when it sits for 3 to 6 hours it will crank back up

The fuel pressure regulator is on the fuel rail near the injectors.

It sounds like the engine computer. Also check the resistance in the injectors and o-rings. O2 sensor and coolant temp sensor could give you a problem.

I have a 1990 Buick century, that will not start, i have changed the ignition module, fuel regulator, plugs and wires, fuel filter. When changed the fuel regulator it started and ran great, shut it off and...

Sounds like your fuel pump is weak so i would check the fuel pressure first. The fuel pressure should be 40-47 psi with key on and engine off and 31-44 psi with engine running. If its not within these specs then replace the fuel pump.

On frist attemp to start car, cranks then dies after few seconds ckd fuel rail , had no pressure , replaced fuel pump regulator , no help !

do you hear the fuel pump turn on when you turn the key to the run position? If not the check the fuel pump relay.

If the car will start and run for a few seconds then die, It may well be the crank position sensor.

1989 buick century won't start. New fuel pump was put on. It seems like the car is flooding with gas. When you crank the car gasoline shoots threw the spark plug holes when you take the plugs out. I also...

Check the fuel pressure regulator, and the fuel return line all the way back to the fuel tank, one ,or the other is stopped up,or the fuel regulator is closed up.I would check the fuel return line first, this is the most likely problem.

Need to pull the codes to see if the throttle position sensor is the problem,or maybe low fuel pressure, have the fuel pressure checked to make sure.

Starts fine, Idles fine, Drives Fine for a while

you might want to chk. the crank sensor and or cam sensor. sounds more to me that it could be fuel problem. chk. fuel pressure. pump could be on its way out. don't be fooled by hearing the pump running as they sound like they are pumping but there not, at least not enought pressure to keep it running. pressure should be around 50 p.s.i.

Fuel Pressure Regulator

All Fuel Pressure Regulators are usually attached to the Fuel Rail. In any case, they have a return line to the fuel tank. On your engine you may have to remove the pretty "Plastic Cover" that covers the top of the engine to see the fuel rail and the pressure regulator. Look for a "tube" that has fuel injectors going from the bottom of it and into the top of the intake manifold. The fuel pressure regulator is a round looking device attached to the end of the fuel rail with a small fuel line coming out the botttom and a vacuum line attached to the top of it. At least in most cases this is what it will look like.
