Transmission issue or possible even transfer case? i had low transfer case fluid and that happened and there was metal screeching sound. my car hesitated then grinded down to stop. had to put more oil in the T-case. but then yours might just be transmission issues possibly?

SOURCE: i need to change spark plugs on my 2003 nissan

the front spark plugs are easy just remove the coil packs and there right there, now the back ones are a bit tricky if u want to tackle it yourself, because you have to remove the intake manifold to access the coil packs to remove the sparkplugs, i also recommend remove the cowling and wipers this gives u more room and opens the area up to make the job simpler, when removing the intake manifold try not to damage any connectors you should be able to find a do it yourself book at a automotive store but if at any time you feel you do not have the skill to do it successfully stop and put it back together

SOURCE: 2003 SL Nissan Murano 150,000 miles. After driving

most likely it is the transfer case leaking. known problem on the AWD models. they leak right down on the exhaust and causes the burning smell. have it checked out again.

first thing i would try is a new fuel filter,,if that dosen't solve it,the best thing to do is get a scan to see which sensor might be going bad.

2003 Nissan Murano Spark plug removal ( rear babk ) - the fastest way to do it.

yes i have done this myself many of times on all transverse mounted motors. also another approach you can use is to put the vehicle on jack stands and remove the plugs from underneath. then you don't have to remove the dog bone mounts. hope this helps
