When I have my A/C on and I come to a stop after driving, it idles really high. What's happening in the video is: the A/C is on, but the compressor isn't running. The compressor turns on, then the idle drops to below normal, then I open the throttle a tad and return to idle position, then it idles really high until the A/C comp turns off.

What is making this 08 caliber 2.0L sxt cvt have a High pitched whining sound at idle and driving?

Possible bearing in one of the drive pulleys. I have changed numerous alternators for this noise. Take the belt off and start the car. If the noise goes away you know it will be pulley related and not transmission related. If noise goes away, spin all pulleys by hand to determine the defective/noisy one

Timing Belt Problem? A/C Compressor?

You either have a defective drive belt or drive belt auto tensioner pulley or you have a defective AC compressor. In any event see the dealer to find out which is the problem or both.

Car starts at high idle for a few seconds, When your driving it is fine but if you have to stop it idles really low and dies. It is a 200 Ford Focus XL.

check for any vaccum lines that may be unplugged.
then remove the air intake tube and clean the black carbon build up from around the throttle plate.use a clean rag only.i think whats happening is at an idle the plate is all closed but for just a little bit for the idle.carbon closes this off and is causing the engine to die at idle.
clean the carbon out very carfully and using some carb cleaner.

hope this helps
keep me posted
