Question about 1999 Dodge Ram
I have a 1999 1500 somedays it will start and run for days then some days I start it and it will not stay idle I have to keep left foot on brake and right on gas every time I come to a stop or it will shut off,,,,,,,,,why would or what would be causing this,Darren
No i think it is the fuel pump, mine was doing the same about a year ago it has taken till now to finally quit.

I'd start by removing the IAC motor & cleaning it & port it came out of with throttle body spray cleaner.. Careful, don't lose small "O" ring at base of it where it comes up flush against throttle body. Those things get gummed up at pintle and will cause stalling and give no codes. Sometimes cleaning will cure it for quite a while, but if it works & starts to do it again short time after, replace it.Not knowing your engine at this time, I can't give exact location for you to find it, but it's usually near front of throttle body, on side. If you go to autozone .com & look up IAC motor, enter your vehicle info, it should give you a picture to help you identify it easier if your not sure.
