BMW X3: Rear nearside parking light not working, bulb changed still not working? Fuse board incomprehensible?? any suggestions.Andrew

Have you traced the hot wire up to the source to see where is loses voltage, you have to do that. You will need a 12 volt test light, about $5 at any auto parts store or sears.

LED Lighting

Not really no. There are kits available but all to often there are laws and standards for vehicles in which the conversions do not abide by. Make sure you research what is legal before attempting such, usually is not worth it.

What size bulb goes in the oven

Seems that regular bulbs really don't like the high heat or getting splattered with cooking juices, shatter at the first contact with liquid. Think you better spend the couple of extra $$$ and not have to clean up a shattered glass mess in your oven.

The GE Reveal 40-Watt Appliance A15 Light Bulbuses neodymium glass to filter out dull yellow rays for enhanced, vivid results. The bulb is an ideal choice for use in household appliances like microwaves, refrigerators and ovens.

Light output: 320 lumens Energy used: 40 watts Life hours: 1,000 hours Ideal for use in many household appliances such as microwaves, refrigerators and ovens Unique neodymium glass filters out the dull, yellow rays of regular soft white bulbs for enhanced, vivid results

If i was to change headlight globes from 55 watt low/65 watt high to xenon halogen 90 watt low/100 watt high is there any problems

Most OE factory wiring is marginal as far as amperage carrying capability goes. They installed wiring fine for the stock bulbs and switch. A lot of vehicles send power to the lights..head and running...through the light switch on the dash. This causes it's own problems as switches are the weak link in the lighting system.

If you run 100watt bulbs you will need to power the bulbs via a 40 amp relay switched by the light switch so the switch does not carry the amperage load through it's contacts.

Doing so will reduce the voltage drop to the bulbs as a 2 volt drop will cause the bulbs to be only 75% as bright as they would be with the full 13.5 volt running voltage..

You run a fused wire from the battery or power distribution block to the relay that should be mounted within 6 inches of the closest h/l bulb. Then from the relay to the head light bulb/s. The front and rear running lamps can remain as factory as they are low amperage draw and original light switch will work because you now no longer run power to the h/lamps through the switch.

Search the www for schematics for relay switched lamps.

I have a vintage singer 500A and don't know how to get the glass bulb cover off to change bulb. also what kind of bulb can i use in it.

The old "Rocketeer" should have the glass lens held on by a clip held to the machine body by a screw. This should be visible when viewed from the body lined up in about the vicinity of the "S" in Singer.

You may need to remove the screw, but loosening should be enough to let the clip move aside so the glass lens drop down out of it's recess, and the bulb is then pressed gently towards the right and gently turned about 1/8 to 1/4 of a turn and it should should pop out.

It is a "Bayonet" base type and there are only a few wattages available that will fit in that socket configuration. The wattage will be inked or stamped on the side of the base of the bulb. Any sewing shop or lighting shop should have the bulb you need. You should be able to locate a 40 watt bulb, but it will be uncomfortably warm/hot if you brush your arm against it.

Installation is just the opposite of the removal.

Replacement of headlight bulbs for 2004 mazda 6 my owner manual said replaced by an authorized mazda dealer but layoff for work no money for this please help like a diagram for replacement

look inside the engine bay behind the light in question, the large plug with wires coming from the back of it in the middle of the light needs to be removed with the large rubber seal.
once removed you will see a spring type clip, you have to push it down and move it to the side to release it from the retaining groove in the metal sorround, once that is done you should be able to remove the halogen bulb from the light, on the bulb it will have numbers like 12V55W, these will not be the same numbers on your bulb unless it was a lucky guess by me but it will give you an idea as to what size bulb you have to buy to replace the old one
the 12V means 12 Volts and the 55W means 55 Watts, if the watts are not the same you will have one light brighter or duller than the other

Light bulb number 1992 Tracer

The bulb number is A12V10W (12 Volts, 10 Watts). The easiest thing to do is to visit an automotive parts store as they usually have a bulb replacement manual which will list most of the bulbs based on the make, model, and year of your vehicle. The other alternative is to visit the link below and input the aforementioned data (I am not sure if the number that you will find on the website will be universal or only a Sylvania part number)
