Popping noise from kia optima 2002

Replaced the spark plugs, wires and the valve cover gasket due to bad valve cover gasket. Now the mass air flow sensor is bad and there is a loud popping noise coming from the engine. It almost sounds like a small fire cracker. Any input would be very appreciated.

SOURCE: car dies when driving, check engine light comes on.

There is a good chance it could be your fuel pump , however if the check engine light is coming on and the dealer cant tell you what is wrong , try a different dealer or another shop. Second opinions never hurt.

SOURCE: 2002 kia optima,,, whining noise that stops when turning left

power steering pump probably went out.. if you can easily get at the belt and are any kind of mechanically inclined, remove the drive belt to the p/s pump and then start the car if the noise is gone then its probably part of the power steering pump

2004 kia optima 6 cylinder I replaced the valve covers and made sure to connect everything back just the way it was now when I crank it it cranks right up then goes dead again sometimes it will stay...

Doubtful a sensor went bad during the work, more likely one (mass airflow, map) is not plugged in all the way or a bent pin, check everything you unplugged and make sure all connections are good.

I can't remove the valve cover on my 99 kia sportage.

Remove Mass Air Flow pipe from Valve cover, then detach hose at rear of valve cover, and hose on left hand side.Remove Plastic Spark Plug cover, and remove coils (leave plugs). Remove all Bolts from inside plug cover (x8) and 9 from the outside (the last one is from behind the timing belt cover. The rear ones are tough, as there is little space to work. Then gently remove the valve cover, you may have to divert the spark cables and small hoses behind the Transmission fluid dip stick.Remove and refit the seal / gasket, and ensure there is a little oil on the top of the block when you replace the valve cover, just tighten bolts to hand tight fit, (you may need to put a piece of newspaper between the screwdriver/wrench handle and your hand to gain sufficient grip.Reverse the process and you should be good to go.

Oil leaking into the mass air flow hose

High crankcase pressure due to worn rings or a plugged crank case ventilation valve (PCV). This can also be caused by an overfilled oil level

Kia optima hesitant acceleration

could be spark plugs, dirty fuel filter, air filter, Mass Air Flow Sensor. bad spark plug wires. Dirty throttle body or injectors. I would start with the cheapest and work my way to the more expensive things if it doesn't improve.

2001 kia optima hesitates on acceleration gets better when warm, but still does it, has 2.4 engine

3 possible problems your mass are flow meter/senso could be going bad but not bad enough to register a fault, the same for your idle air valve and also your throttle position sensor. all 3 of these are on your throttle body .
with the engine running tap the side of the mass air flow with the back of a screw driver, if the engine sputers mass air flow needs can try cleaning it with some mass air flow cleaner if you cant find that at your auto parts store get some electrical parts wash. your idle air valve needs to be cleaned or replaced there hard to get off. your throttle position sensor , you need to know the setting ,if the auto parts store cant give you aprint out of instuctions best to let a kia dealership do it and pay out the ****.

I have a 1999 oldsmobile intrigue that is misting a lot. It idels rough, and runs rough. I can still take off it is a little slow, but I can still go pretty fast, but it still mist at the high speeds...

fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail is probably it or the egr valve is stuck open allowing burnt fuel to flood the intake, im leaning towards the fuel pressure regulator because the o2sensor is probably reading rich or if its reading lean then i would choose the egr valve . good luck
