Yes, by swapping it's place with a same, exact known good one, from the relay box. Swapping the two identical relays into each other's spot is a good way to test if they are both working.

I just replace my fuel pump on a 2004 Chevrolet impala and it sill won't start. Can you tell me exactly where I can find the fuel pump reset switch?

There is no fuel pump reset switch ! You need to test the electrical circuit , there is a fuel pump RELAY that turns on the fuel pump an this is where you test for battery voltage an control of the relay ! THE PCM - ( engine computer ) provides a ground to pin 85 there by energizing the relay turning on the fuel pump ! Here check out this video . GM Fuel Pump Relay Testing

I have a 1991 buick skylark,3.3 l. It started dying when hitting the gas at the bottom of a hill. Slowly started dying here and there. Then it would only idle until I touched the gas and it would die....

How do you know the fuel pump is good ? Did you do a fuel pump pressure test with a test gauge ? Did you test the fuel pump electric circuit ? Is the check engine light on ? There is a fuel pump relay under the hood engine compartment . The right front behind the headlamp are four relays , the one to the left is the fuel pump relay .I'll send a link to a video on testing the circuit !There also is a fuse in the wiring near those relays , it's power for the fuel pump relay ! Or you have a bad fuel pressure regulator ! A plugged catalytic converter could do this , need to pull the O2 sensor an do a back pressure Test ! 2000 mercury grand marquis 4.6 Intermittent problem. 35,000. miles. Problem engine died several times wile driving. Also after car is parked from a drive will not start. Found that the fuel pump is not...

I'd have to test when problem is ongoing. When you first turn on key, no crank, you should hear the pump run for a few seconds then stop. For initial prime, the computer doesn't need rpm signal. Engine cranking, the computer needs to see rpm signal or it won't ground the fuel pump relay. W/o rpm signal, no spark at the plugs and no fuel injector pulse. I know your talking about fuel, but, when problem is ongoing, check spark and fuel injector pulse, engine cranking.
Intermittent problems are a pain, have to test when problem is ongoing.

Not guessing as to what the problem is , testing for voltage drop problems with a volt meter . posted a video on youtube yesterday . If your still looking for guesses forget it , no one on here could say for sure without testing the circuit an hooking up a scan tool to see if PCM is energizing the relay . Do yourself a favor an take it to a qualified repair shop . Fuel Pump Electrical Circuits Description and Operation If you can't learn how to test from this guy , better take to a repair shop .

Fuel pump works relay were fix how many fuel pump

first you need to test your wires going back yo the fuel pump inorder to see if you have a bad wire or not.. does the fuel pump initilize upon turn ignition on . if yes then you need to chk possible spark issuie . if no initilize then test connector at the fuel pump and work your way back to the fuel relay swtch and if that tests out work your way back to ignition switch . ( s/b only 1 relay )

2004 Sunfire Problem starting and shutting down on occasion

I'd want to check voltage and ground for fuel pump relay. The load side of relay is the line with arrowhead, when relay is energized that line with arrowhead moves to other terminal and sends voltage to fuel pump on gray wire. The control side of relay is that coil symbol, it has to have voltage and ground, the voltage comes from pcm, the ground is a chassis ground. The voltage for load side of relay is fuse protected, fp/inj fuse. fuel pump-mo2osvehtzbwzhstuaetpz2s-2-0.jpg
