Car will shut down at random times. There is no pattern to it either. It will shut down at a traffic light, on the highway, or on city streets. I have power everywhere else: lights, radio, and everything...

It could be an electrical problem or a fuel problem somewhere, but I suspect the CPS (crankshaft position sensor) is going bad. When this starts going out, the car will shut off at anytime, but it will sometimes start right back up and sometimes a couple of hours. But I will say, if this is the problem it will leave you stranded. Good Luck.

Electrical system shuts off.

i have a theory, have you tried replacing the door ajar switches, one might be bad,the computer might be seeing a load on the battery for a while after vehicle shut down, and because of this the computer does this to shed loads so the battery is not killed,or the problem could be the GEM module which controls all the power, its actually part of the fuse box and would need to be replaced as a unit but a little exspensive,so i would try the door switches first, hope this helps

Power antenna motor will not shut off

I assume that the power antenna unit is an original equipment unit, if so.
1. Does it run for about a minute then stop? If this is the case, your antenna shaft needs to be replaced. This is a very simple procedure that your local radio install shop can do for you in about 20 minutes.
2. If the motor never shuts off as long as the key is on, you probably have a defective relay on the antenna motor. At this point you need to replace the entire unit. A job that can be a bit pricey because of the price of the unit itself. A cheeper fix is to replace the power antenna with a manually telescopic unit, (no motor), or a fixed unit, (doesn't go down). If you opt for the latter, remember to unscrew or lower the antenna in automatic car washes!

My power antenna won't go down when i turn off my car or my radio. i have a 1995 chevy impala ss

this is normal the power antenna gets power from the radio and unless the radio is shut off either from powering it down or turning off the car it will stay up. if it is an aftermarket stereo and is staying up when you are on cd's check to make sure that your antenna is hooked to the antenna output on the radio and not the system remote as the system remote is hot any time the radio is powered to run amplifiers.

The radio will play while driving, then all of the sudden it shuts off and the antenna goes down. The antenna tries to come up but then retracts. So far the radio will not turn on. It been like this for 5...

Sounds like you just have a bad connection at radio power wire. Check radio fuse first to make sure it's o.k. but then you'll have to get someone to trace power wire to back of radio & check connections.
