SOURCE: rear air suspension holding air not venting, staying up to high

The air suspension uses the same vent solenoid to vent front so that will be ok. The problem will either be the rear height sensor which mounts on/near left side of rear axle. Or the air suspension module itself.
I would suspect it is the rear height sensor, the link may have come unhooked or it may be sticking or just bad.

SOURCE: air ride......

Hi, sounds like your air solenoid switch located on top of the air bag where the air line connects to on top of the bag. It is almost impossible to see this switch without removing the air bag because of it's location. If there is air in the bag now, the only way to release enough air to get the solenoid out is to find a Ford STARR reader. This tool is the easiest way. No tool, with the rear frame raised (not axle) and air suspension switch "off", take a long thin flat head screwdriver, with car raised and wheel off ground, look dead center on top of tire on the other side of the frame rail that curves over the axle, you will see a circular (probably rusted) half circle far in the back, take the screwdriver and pry under this until the half ring is off. Next, go under axle, look up following the top of the airbag. Take your hand and "twist" the round solenoid connecting to the top of the air bag. When you twist it and pull, the air will release all at once. Disconnect the wire at the terminal, and disconnect the air line by pushing on the small orange colored ring down while pulling the air line at the same time. Install air line to new solenoid by pushing the air line into the orange ring then lightly pull back and it will lock. Connect the terminal wire, push and twist into air bag and place new half ring clip onto solenoid, it will snap into place when installed correctly. Don't forget the clip, the solenoid could slip out from vibrations if not clipped securely. Lower car to where the tires are touching the ground and a few inches lower, but don't release the jack yet. Turn air suspension switch "on" and start car. Let the air bag fill up until the pump stops. Repeat by turning car off, then on again after 5 minutes in between. Lower car a few more inches and repeat until jack can be removed and air bag is filled.

have you changed the sensor on the side of the deployed air bag-it might be in the door or the center post between the front and rear seats-and when you say computor do you mean the main trigger or the one that runs the car-what happens is the sensor in the side sez-set off air bag then the main trigger also sez set off air bag then it goes off- the cpu for the car will only retain a history of the event-cheers Denny

My air bag light just started coming on if i restart vehicle it goes out may stay off 2-3 days then back on...if i pull fuse under dash it also kills gauges---2000 f taurus

he light comes on because the airbag computer has detected a malfunction. You need to have the system checked for codes with a scan tool. You then need to have the cause repaired by a trained technician. The airbag system is not a safe place for do it you selfers.

How do you "manually" bleed the air bags in a 96 Lincoln Cont. ?

Shut off pump switch located in drivers side panel door in trunk. Jack up car at frame and support with jack stands. This will make sure the car does not come down on you when you release the air.
Pop retaining off of solenoid valve located at top of airbag and turn valve to first stop till air starts releasing

Air Ride Suspension Issues for a 1999 For Expedition 5.4L

It sounds to me like you have a hole or cracks in your airbag. The dealership typically diagnoses it as the compressor but that is only to keep you coming back and wasting more money on something that will never truly be fixed. The Compressor is the problem but the airbags are bad as well. When the air bag has a hole or leak in it the compressor has to work extra hard because it is like blowing up a balloon with a hole in it. Therefor the airbag will kill the compressor. It sounds like this is what happened. I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at our conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. This is a PERMANENT fix and ALOT cheaper than going to the dealership. I added the link below so you can check it out. http://www.strutmasters.com/ford-suspension-parts-s/75.htm I hope I was of some help to you Good Luck!!!

Rear air ride shock over inflate and will not deflate

I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at the conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. Airbags and compressors are constantly having to be replaced. Also something alot of people don't know is that theses air suspensions are not meant to be in temperatures above 90 Degrees or below 40 Degrees. That is most of the world. The temperature will cause you to replace alot of bags. and typically when your replacing a bag you are going to have to replace the compressor to because the bag had a hole or small crack in it causing the compressor to over work and it will die. I posted the link below so you can take a look http://www.strutmasters.com/lincoln-suspension-parts-s/1.htm I hope I was of some help Good Luck!!!

Airbag light comes on and shut odemeter and tack off. Then engine light come on and display reads no bu5. then all goes back to normal

You have a loose ground or a bad instrument panel connector, tracking down these kinds of issues is very expensive and time consuming. I must warn you that any thing you do that involves the airbag is very dangerous, and should not be attemped by anyone but the new car dealer with proper repair manuals and test equipment.
