1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Dead rear window wiper

Hi,
I claned the shaft for some years ago. It worked after that.
But now it´s time again.
The problem is that I cant find the manual/instruction for this.
Thank you for your help

Over the past few years, the rear window wiper would start, then stop abruptly in the left extreme position. For a few times, I could switch the wiper off and then wait to restart the Jeep later. It would sometimes respond to a switching on and off and would either return to the park position or continue to work. Recently it started and ran the wiper into the far left position then stalled there and will no longer respond to any trickery with the switchery! Is this a relay problem ... a switch problem ... a motor problem? Where do I start, and how do you access the motor in the first place?

If wiper stub is frozen, remove the arm and spray shaft with a solvent. I won't call this a fix so I'll leave it as a comment...hope it helps.

SOURCE: heated seat 1996 jeep grand cherokee

C1 & C2 in your panel are most likely one of the culprits, if no power at heater at seat. Sounds like testing for power at seat switch is easier to do than get at these circuit breakers in the panel. If you have power at switch at seat, then it's not the fuse/circuit breaker. Good reading at this link for you.

SOURCE: LOCATION OF LIGHTER FUSE FOR 1996 JEEP GRAND

If you have the owner's manual look up fuses in the index, good illustration. If you don't, I do. It shows a relay and a 15 amp fuse. Look at the passenger kick panel, pull the cover, and it is #2 fuse (second from the top on the left) The see the relay you may have to pull the panel (two screws and a clip) the relay is the third cavity down, third row from the firewal side.
Let me know if this works for you?

SOURCE: I need instuctions to replace the rear wiper blade

Take it to any parts store and they will do it for you for free, there are three types, the rocker type which you have to raise the wiper arm away from the glass then pull the tab up then slide the wiper down and slide the wiper off the wiper arm. but the best thing is have someone show you how to do it for the first time sometimes they can be tough to get off.

See if your getting spark at the ign. coil first (passengers side on that year) if you are change the crank shaft sensor making sure you mount it as close to the engine as possible so it never gives you trouble again.

Dead rear wiper on 96 grand cherokee

If there is a short inside the motor assembly itself yes it can cause a drain , simply unpugging the clip from the motor can solve this. And as far as repair goes you usually just need to buy a new/remanned motor and replace it.

Rear wiper and heated seats not working.

For the heated seats it is usually an open element in the lower seat portion. Time to get in there with a multimeter to see that you have voltage applied at seat connector (when switched on). Then look for continuity in the seat element itself with ohmmeter. Expect resistance to be very low.
