Horn not working i believe it is a fault on the steering wheel. Can i safely remove the airbag to get to the horn?

Pull the air bag fuse or disconnect the negative battery cable an wait a few minutes , then you can remove the air bag safely . What country are you from ? Do you have an air bag light lit on the dash as well ? Possible clock spring problem , it's located inside the steering column under the steering wheel . This clock spring allows the steering wheel to turn from right to left keeping the air bag , horn , speed control ( if you have the buttons on the steering wheel ) . Connected electrically . There is also a relay located in a fuse / relay box . Do you know what a relay is ? VEHICLE RELAYS Operation Diagnosis

2000 VW Jetta TDI my Horn just stopped! I don't know which relay to start by, The fuse is good but no V at horns Is there a wiring diagram to be had?

There is a "clockspring" wiring spiral in the steering wheel to accommodate the rotating steering wheel with controls on it. If this breaks, you may lose some or all functions controlled by stuff on the s-wheel.

How to replace a relay switch for a 1999 jeep grand cherokee

The relay on our 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee was located behind the headlight on the passenger side of the vehicle. technicians at the Jeep dealership that you have to remove the bumper to get to it OR you can remove the headlight assembly and drill a hole large enough to get a socket and extension to the bolts on the relay..removed the headlight and drilled a 5/8" hole to get to the relay screws.
Why Jeep puts this relay in such a hard place to reach is beside me - - - other than perhaps they don't want it to be easily customer replaceable. Argh! Good luck.

How to install a blower moter and fan

Well, here's the instructions from the service manual. The labor guide says this can be done in 1.6 hours...I don't see how, unless the instructions are wrong about having to remove the instrument panel. My thoughts are that if you are only doing the blower motor, the blower assembly will come out without pulling the dash. You probably only have to do a partial disassembly and remove the glove box and the glove box lower support.

*************************************************************************************

BLOWER ASSEMBLY

Removal and Installation

1. Disconnect battery ground cable. Remove Instrument panel. (See Instrument Panel Removal) Disconnect resistor connector. remove blower assembly duct. Disconnect motor connector. Remove blower assembly

2. Remove blower assembly screws and blower motor assembly. Remove clip and fan from assembly. Separate motor case and remove blower motor. To install, reverse removal procedure.

INSTRUMENT PANEL

Removal

1. Disable air bag system. See AIRBAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article in ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT SECTION. Disconnect negative battery cable. Scribe mating marks on steering wheel and shaft for installation reference. Using Steering Wheel Remover (J-29752) remove steering wheel. Remove steering cowl.

2. Remove instrument panel grilles and plug, or driving pattern indicator panel (A/T Models). Disconnect electrical connections. Remove instrument panel hood, instrument cluster ezel and instrument cluster. Remove hood release handle. Remove knee protector.

3. Remove dash fuse/relay block and side trim. Remove engine control module box. Remove radio console and glove box lower reinforcement. Remove speaker covers and glove box. Remove heater control panel knobs and cover. Disconnect heater control cables, and remove heater control panel. Remove illumination control knob. Remove instrument panel.

Installation

1. Install instrument panel. Install and adjust heater control cables. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Ensure mating marks on steering wheel and shaft align. Apply grease to contact ring and tighten steering wheel nut to 26 ft.lbs. (35 N.m).

Where is the location of fuse and relay box

The fuse panel is located below and to the left of the steering wheel by
the brake pedal, under the dash. The power distribution box is located in the engine compartment on the driver's side, wheel well near the master cylinder/brake booster.

2001 Grand Caravan, Cruise control and buttons on ...

Look inside on the drivers side for the fuse/relay panel under the dash. To get to the panel, remove the lower steering column cover and kneepad. You will see the panel and everything is marked so you can check the correct fuse or relay. Use a test light to do all of your testing. Also under the hood on some models are more fuses and relays controlling other options on the van. Remove the cover and look inside cover for the correct location of the fuse and relay. Hope this will help you.

Door locks don't work

Disassemble the paneling on left side ,under the steering wheel. Remove all screws and pull out the panel until you can you can reach behind it to remove the two Black Relays, on the side closest to Steering wheel. Remove the Relay covers, Clean the contacts with a 1/8 fine strip of 600 wet/dry sand paper. Only place the paper between the contacts, and pull out while holding slight pressure on the relay Armature. Turn over the sandpaper and repeat once again. Very gently press the TOP resting contact pad closer to the armature, to lessen the gap between the contact points, so the armature doesn't have to travel as far to reach the closed contact position. Repeat the above with the other2nd Relay. Replace the covers, reinstall the relays And test the Door locks prior to buttoning up the paneling. Note, a pair of long needle nosed pliers will help in removing the relays. Just Grip the relay and rock in Forward and Backward as you apply upward pressure.
