I have a 2000 chevy impala with a 3.4 motor. Where do you find the thermostate

look for the upper radiator hose on the drivers side top of the engine. Follow it to the metal housing that is bolted to the intake manifold. The thermostat is behind that housing.

It helps to remove the throttle body first if you have never replaced one of these. After you get a couple under you belt there really is no need to pull the throttle body.

I’m happy to assist further over the phone at

2000 Passat 4Motion: how to replace starter...

Removing the battery cables first (1st neg & pos 2nd) Removed splash pan. disconnected battery connections on starter. Removed LF wheel and splash curtian. Then removed #15 mounting bolt on bottom of starter. Using extensions and swivel. Then removed top back mounting #15 bolt using short socket. Found pulling starter out through wheel easier. I am not a ASE mech (son is) but did not assist nor did I use anything other then "basic tools". no air tools either. This took me about 2 hours to complete.

2000 chevy impala, air conditioning does not work

It sounds like the blower resistor needs to be replaced and the blower motor it self. Auto Zone will have the blower and resistor that you need to replace and will have the step by step instructions for you to get the job done with common tools and will take about 2 hours if your good with tools. Good luck and keep me posted. Setting 5 should have 12 volts running to the blower motor so check the wire harness for voltage readings at the blower motor harness clip, you may only just need a new blower motor.
