Question about 1997 Dodge Caravan
My serpentine belt falls off on my Caravan every time it gets wet; I was by one of the many mechanics that the van had a design defect and there was a fix for the problem; however noone, including Dodge, can tell me about this fix or even what to do about the belt slipping off all the time. I've had the belt replaced and the pulleys tightened and nothing seems to help. I'm at the point where the vehicle has to remained parked during wet weather, this includes rain, snow, sleet and ice. Anyone have any ideas or ever heard of this problem?
For your problem with the serpatine belt coming off durning wet weather. You can buy a pulley and double sided grooved belt kit for about $100. or as I did went to hardware store bought a washer bigger than the tensioner pulley and a little longer bolt.that took care of my problem.hope this helps you out.

Go back to your mechanic and tell him/her to check if your pulleys are aligned right. The problem may also be that your components just weren't manufacturered with the right pulleys- I have come to understand that Chrysler is notorious for that kind of stuff.
